It's a proper old market square pub with a tempting menu that makes it difficult to choose what to have. They do gluten free bread as well. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary last night. Originally we booked for 7 and then added 3 more guest at the last minute. It's was dealt with efficiently. We had a fantastic evening, the food was excellent and the dietary needs of a celiac guest were well catered for. A large proportion of the menu can be gluten free. We have eaten at the Black Boy before and this was also a good experience. So I feel confident to recommend.
