Place for the cosiest English pub experience + dog friendly and they have a fire place. Sophisticated gastropub menu with many vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options. Fantastic wine list and knowledgeable barmen will help you to make a choice and expand your wine horizons. I dreamt of their haddock omelette but it was sold out. My roasted Hake for a main was fantastic though. Perfectly cooked fish topped with slightly crunchy slow dried cavolo Nero and brown butter shrimp sauce - that was a treat. Bread basket was insanely good. All breads were freshly baked and made from the scratch. We especially enjoyed the potato and nigella seeds one. Our friend is gluten and lactose intolerant but the staff was understanding and she was very happy with the choice they helped her with. They are dog friendly and even if something goes wrong and you can’t book a dog friendly space online - do give them a call and the staff will sort it out for you.
