Ethiopian food is one of my favorites and I have eaten it in restaurants across the country and Walia is one of the best! The vegetarian sampler is amazing and they have some of their own unique takes on it. I went with someone who doesn't eat gluten and they were able to make her injera (Ethiopian bread) that was gluten free. The food was so yummy, I had to pause and not speak to just enjoy the amazing flavors. The service was also excellent and very attentive. In fact, the chef came out to talk to us! I highly recommend it and plan to go back on my next visit to New Jersey.

What a great experience here! The food was yummy and the service was excellent. Gluten-free options are available. The place is clean, staff is friendly. The place is welcoming and the food is yummy… please note, Ethiopian food is consumed with your hands. There are utensils available if needed. Parking is on street and difficult. We were lucky to find a spot close by. The area can be kind of sketchy at times, and while we were there, several police were on foot and on the hunt for an individual. if you can overlook the other issues, it’s worth a trip.

Gluten free injera and incredible stews/sides! Got take out and ate in the little park right next door, so food was super fresh. Hard to find Ethiopian food in our area of NY, so this was an absolute treat. Felt confident with the kitchen and their GF preparation.
