First time at Yola's Cafè today. Now, I drive over to the east side of Madison plenty of times for the food and the offerings over there, and please note the seriousness in my eyes when I tell you that YOU NEED TO DRIVE OVER HERE, wherever you live in Madison. LOOK at this waffle: the crunchy dripped edges, the doughy, "eggy" interior, the nooks and crannies that say "hold on there syrup, you ain't going nowhere" (Mitch Hedberg RIP). Yola's advertises "the best waffles in Wisconsin," and I cannot prove otherwise. Not today. This waffle was a ten out of ten, and I've never had a better one. Ever. You can order them vegan or gluten-free. (This is the vegan, WITH gluten.) How will I not get one of these every week now? Maybe I should.
The latte didn't have to be this good with a waffle like that, but it was that good. HOT all the way through - SO rare with the 16 oz., because they add more milk but not more coffee (until you get to the 20 oz.) and often they are under-temp. Cinnamon was just right. I personally like the oatmilk a little sumptuously richer, but an otherwise stellar 9 out of 10.
Yola's also boasts some lovely outdoor seating, and the location is a bit noisy, but lots of shopping close by!
