Well I have had the best marinara ever!!
The missus ordered a gluten free Vesuvius pizza that lived up to its name. Cooked to her order. Followed this up with a Creme Broulee.
Topped of a Negroni I had a fantastic experience.
Stumbled upon this place by accident whilst looking for a place for dinner. They sat us down (two) very quickly on sat night without a booking. They have gluten free pasta and pizza options which are both delicious. Lots of variety and generous portions!
Variety of cafe food good serving sizes various vegetarian and omnivore options, gluten free bread available however I am only intolerant not coeliac so not sure if they're okay here. Usual coffee hot chocolate and tea options with regular, oat, almond and soy milks. All coffees, hot chocolates, iced milk drinks and milkshakes tasted good to me. Friendly staff and both indoor and outdoor dining options.
Quiet cafe with secluded outdoor area out the back. They have nice vegetarian options and a range of fresh cakes and slices (some gluten-free), decent coffee and friendly staff.
I have been to McKinly twice now since opening, what a great feed! The sandwiches are amazing, I’ve ordered the cheesesteak toastie twice! I can’t get enough! They also have the best Gluten Free bread in Melbourne 🙌 definitely put it on your list of places to try! It’s our go to in the area now! Great work guys 👌
Foccacia 10/10 taste just like my mother in law’s 🤤
The calamari and charred octopus also absolutely divine, incredibly cooked and paired well with their sauces!
On offer for main was market fish, a duck dish and an incredibly expensive steak - we went for the duck and it was surprisingly really really juicy yet crunchy and perfect?? I would recommend if this is on the menu!
We then had the rabbit ragu pasta - I’m gluten free nowadays - so I can’t really give a relatable review however my partner said he really loved it!!
Next time we’ll try more antipasto as that’s what they’re known for!!!
