Popped in earlier in the day to make a booking for the same night and got a wonderful seat outside with perfect view of the Matterhorn! They provided blankets to keep us cozy as the air got crisp, and we filled up on warm fondue and an excellent crème brûlée! The waitress was very friendly and chatty and accommodating of my gluten allergy bringing gluten free bread warmed up and potatoes!
Rustic charm meets cozy vibes in this diverse Italian spot, where tasty pizzas and a welcoming atmosphere make for a lovely evening out.

A very nice Italian restaurant on the edge of downtown Zermatt. The service was good and informed about intolerances. The food is excellent. There is even gluten-free pizza for an additional charge of 4CHF. This isn't completely homemade, but it's still ok.

I have celiacs disease and their gluten free food gave me no issues. I ordered the salmon risotto, it was amazing! Like seriously so delicious. The server knew about gluten allergies as well and was helpful and nice about it. The wine was also very good. Definitely recommend this place for the people with gluten intolerance!!

Great experience with this restaurant. We love Indian Food but we have some allergy restrictions. Called the restaurant and they were super kind and accommodated our allergy concerns and even wrote on every package of it was dairy or gluten free. Really appreciate it. And above all, the food was excellent!! Not too greasy, not too spicy. Great flavors. Easy ordering online and to go experience.
A scenic hike leads to stunning views and a charming spot that makes the trek worth every step—definitely a must-visit!

There is a reason that it is difficult to get a reservation at Chez Vrony. The view and the food are fantastic. Absolutely make a reservation here.
TIPS for NON-SKIERS. It took me several asks along the way to find Chez Vrony. Its a about a 30 minute HIKE down to the restaurant. You have to have hiking boots (and maybe a hiking stick) if its really snowy you may want those grippy bottom things for your shoes.
Give yourself an HOUR to get there from Zermatt Village
You have to take the train from the Zermatt Sunnegga Station (you need a ticket for this / or your ski pass) you take this Awesome underground train up the mountain to Sunnegga and exit there. SKIERS - will simply ski down to Findeln (honestly, this is the best way to get there, but if you don't ski keep reading) NON-SKIERS (about 30 mins hike from here) - when you exit the train you will see a tunnel to the kids adventure area - walk through the tunnel. Take the small lift down to the kids area, it actually a very nice view, then exit on to the snow. You are going to walk about 100ft along the side of the ski slope and on your left you will see a HOT PINK POLES with a trail entrance - Follow the poles down the trail. You will pass through this little Hotel/village looking place - there will be PINK poles and arrows directing you to Vrony. Just follow the pink poles and trail.
You will cross a ski run/slope - walk straight across - follow the poles. You are about 5 mins away at this point. Good Job!
You will see Vrony flags and the restaurant.
OK - Now to get back. I went back the same way I came down, mostly because I knew the path and so I felt sure of myself. It is uphill which was a hall, but since I was not skiing that day (huge mistake on my part) I wanted the exercise. You can ask the staff at Vrony and they will advise on alternative options like hiking down to a chair lift and taking that up to Sunnegga. You have to take the underground train back down to Zermatt.
OK. Real quick on the food. YUM!!! Get the cheese fondue, its so fun, and warm, and Swiss (they have gluten free bread if you ask). My kids had the One and Only Vrony Burger - it was delicious and it should be for 40 francs.
The view is amazing and the Matterhorn, is well, majestic.
Hope this helps. I should have taken more photos of the path, but I didn't think about writing this till it was all over.
Enjoy Zermatt.
Authentic vibes and a warm atmosphere make this spot a top choice in Zermatt, with a great value for memorable meals.

Tinyest portion of apple strudel we ever encountered. 13 CHF, thin and small but fresh and tasty
Simple Lipton paper teabag tea.
We were the only ones inside not having a fondue.
Felt very touristy, in a very touristy main street and city.
Not a place for gluten free seekers as well
This spot combines a sleek, modern vibe with an unforgettable culinary experience, showcasing impressive flavors and customizable options that keep guests coming back.

While looking for gluten free options in Zermatt, we called to ask if they could make accommodations. While they were initially unsure, they actually called back to confirm that the chef had said he would be able to make accommodations. After enjoying our first dinner there, we ended up spending three more meals with them. The unassuming and clean modern look of the restaurant makes the food all the more impressive. The lamb filet mignon melted in the mouth like butter and the parsley risotto was a work of art. The chef adapted the Pollack dish to be gluten free and it was incredible. The chicken breast was juicy and perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce. The entrecôte cubes were delicious and had both delightful outer crust and a perfect pink medium rare inside. All of the gluten free desserts were delicious. The great food was enhanced by the experience of the wonderful team, especially Roman, who always had great recommendations and went out of his way to make sure that the kitchen could make accommodations based on our needs. We enjoyed the restaurant so much that we recommended it to at least four other couples we met during our time in Zermatt.
Enjoy a hearty serving of classic Swiss fondu, perfect for sharing, with a cozy atmosphere that invites you to indulge.

A classic Swiss menu. The fondu can be done gluten free with just potatoes. They brought us spoons so that my partner who eats bread could spoon fondu over his bread without contaminating the fondu. The serving size is huge. It was way too much fondu for us to eat but it was tasty.
Cozy vibes meet classic charm, perfect for unwinding after skiing with delightful drinks and great atmosphere.

Beautiful restaurant with a fantastic view and wonderfully friendly staff. The food was delicious (I had the fried artichokes and Parmigiana) and the atmosphere was so chill. Would definitely come back again!
I’m also gluten free and this was well catered for!
