Brian the server and young architect: My wife and I have worked in fine dining, Ruth's Chris and Brennan's, New Orleans; most servers find a way to irk me and disappoint. Brian's service was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly without getting in the way of our date.
Food: You can scarcely complain about any of the creole and New Orleans fusion served at Eliza; we have been loyal in particular for the gluten free fried seafood. For such a high quality place, however, I was disappointed to learn they are still using the industrial biproduct, "vegetable" oil, in their fryer instead of beef tallow or at least refined peanut oil (which does *not* cause allergic reactions).
I selfishly hope Eliza's can commit to clean oils in their kitchen, so they can once again be our go-to for fried seafood and perfect destination to show out of town friends a refined but casual experience of excellent south Louisiana fare.
With a warm ambience and high-class, modern dishes, this spot is perfect for food lovers looking for diverse and fresh menu options!

Definitely will be back to try some of the other entrees on the menu. The pork tamale was so tender, the birria and cheese enchiladas were perfection. Hubby recommends the Mexican Stir-fry with the protein trio of chicken, shrimp, and steak. I did steal a shrimp to check for myself. The grill on it made the flavor pop. They can cater to just about any restrictions too. They have keto, vegetarian, and gluten free menus. When you go, ask for Dallas. He delivers top notch service!
This spot is a local gem known for its endless selection of delicious options, a lively atmosphere, and excellent service that keeps everyone smiling.

So thankful for gluten free items. I was so excited for fried shrimp and fried green tomatoes. I have to say they really need to use some seasoning. It was pretty much flavorless. But the remoulade was good an added something.. Shrimp and grits were also lacking in flavor. My suggestion to the restaurant would be don’t be afraid to spice it up.
Oh dear. From outside, appears to be a very hip and with it addition to the B.R. restaurant scene as nurtured by the Perkins overpass locus. Interior reads of much the same, as though the quirky bric-a- brac interior design merchants of simulated culture eateries have cracked the hipster aesthetic a decade or two after the peak. Waitstaff with a knit beanie, another with a ever-so- carefully curled mustache; adorable.
The menu is full of vegetarian and vegan and gluten free selections because OF COURSE IT IS. Words like "rustic" have been press- ganged into service for bread that is extremely not.
I challenge new venues in southeastern Louisiana if they have the gusto to put something like shrimp creole on the menu. In this case, I led with some crab cakes. The side salad was the big winner of that course. The crab cakes were okay. Could have been more crab intensive for appetizer pricing. The shrimp creole had shrimp in it. I do not dispute that. But the creole was muted or missing entirely. It is possible that my expectations have been skewed by offerings by friends and family, but I feel confident in saying only the most timid or naive palate will endorse this dish completely. In all fairness, the green peas as a side were expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. A big plus for vegetables treated with respect. A great big star arrived to bump up the score here: the chocolate chunk cookie for a finisher was entirely legit. Definitely take a chance on a dessert if one strikes your fancy.
Service was good. Interior ambiance is very improvisational restaurant furniture. The intentional lack of effort screams as loudly as possible: "We're a very hip and laid back eatery! We are a playful venue!" But the casual cool feels carefully posed.
We visited on a Wednesday around early dinner time and I earnestly hope the sincere mediocre white guy with an acoustic guitar singing bloodless simulations of decades- old moderate rock was a one- time thing and the management recognizes their mistake and cancels that unnecessary intrusion that only distracts and detracts from what pleasantness there is to be had.
I'm definitely up for another run at their menu in a few weeks or so. I suspect there are more gems to be found.
Late-night service shines with thoughtful touches and accommodating vibes, making it a great choice for those in need of a quick bite.

P.F. Changs was able to accommodate my gluten-free diet prior to closing at 11 one night! They even apologized for the wait and asked to top off my to-go Mr. Pibb! Way to go! I love it! Not to mention they put certified gluten-free soy sauce in the bag! As someone who was working from noon to almost 10 myself I really appreciate the service.
Awesome food, fantastic service, and they also have a gluten free menu! The best steak I’ve had in Baton Rouge :)
Ps the goat cheese grits are to die for!

Came two days in a row! That’s how good this pizza is! For people on special diets like keto or low carb, of gluten sensitivity this place really has options for everything. The pizza in the pictures are cauliflower crust and they taste just like regular pizza! Customer service is great and pizza comes out extremely fast
they also have dairy free options!

Definitely a place to stop by. Foods alway fresh and hot. The servers are attentive.
The only people I would recommend stying away is if your gluten sensitivity or intolerant.
Stop scrolling and have a delicious breakfast at Simple Joe’s! I’m a Carolina girl and I know shrimp & grits, and these are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! The owner is on site and makes sure customers are happy, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is eclectic and funky. I can’t endorse this place enough. Also, for a gluten-sensitive person, what an absolute joy to find ANYTHING remotely Cajun in a cream sauce without a roux. Happy dining!
Work luncheon went off without a hitch at Superior Grill on Government. I got lunch fajitas. Love the grilled meat and veggies. Can skip the flour tortillas if gluten- free or get corn tortillas instead.
Cozy vibes, attentive service, and a commitment to detail make this spot worth the splurge for a memorable experience.

The Waiter(?) Host(?)
Was extremely thorough and doting, made sure to take care of everything we needed. He was also super understanding of my girlfriend's gluten allergy and answered all our questions about menu ingredients and how it was prepared. It's pricey, but the service validated the cost.
First time coming here. Fast and efficient even during a lunch rush. I asked for a sandwich on gluten free bread and the gentleman immediately changed his gloves. He also used a bottle when I asked for mayo instead of the knife they use for regular bread. He minimized cross contamination as much as he could without even being asked. He is the kind of person everyone in the food industry should strive to be like. Actually cares about food safety and customer needs. You have a repeat customer now. Impeccable.
Experience a delightful atmosphere with a focus on expertly seasoned dishes and attentive service that enhances your visit.

My husband and I had dinner and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the rotisserie chicken with house rub and the corn grits. Kennedy was our server and she was wonderful. I have a gluten allergy and she was very knowledgeable about my options and accommodating to my questions. She was friendly, kind, communicative, timely, and efficient. An overall pleasant and enjoyable dining experience. Thank you Kennedy!!

I can't stop eating these tacos. I always have a fish taco, a pork taco, and a margarita. Everything is fresh and flavorful. The menu is simple, but there is something for everyone: vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, and gluten-free. You will enjoy the food here. Outdoor seating only. However, the food is consistently good whether eating in person, takeout, or delivery. If local or visiting, give this place a try. You will be back!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Portabello’s Grill today! Our friendly and knowledgeable server, Rebekah, recommended several yummy dishes to try from Portabello’s new brunch menu!! Two of us tried the sweet potato pancakes with orange butter and candied pecans (absolutely delicious), one of us tried the shrimp and grits which she liked, and the last person with a gluten allergy was accommodated with a gluten free veal parmigiana and fingerling potatoes (he ate it all)!! We also shared the crab dumplings with a white corn sauce which were amazing!! Leftovers were boxed up and taken home to be consumed later!! Thank you to the manager who came over to help us with our gluten free diner (sorry I did not catch her name), the kitchen staff who cooked the delicious meal, and Rebekah who provided us with great service!! Well done!!
