When I moved to the east end I used to religously get eggplant parm from here because it was the best out of carinis, and portabellas. I had gone gluten free and no longer ate Italian food for a while but we decided to get a to go order today and it was kind of sub par.
Alfredo lacked flavor (it’s Alfredo so of course still pretty good) but tasted like it was missing something.
My pasta that came with my eggplant didn’t even have enough sauce to coat the noodles. The eggplant was good.
It’s about the details to me, and Italians are typically good with the details...like givingenough sauce to cover pasta. I get this “trying to save money by being a little skimpy” vibe and there are a lot of other choices in the area and for 2 pasta dishes and a large salad costing $45.
