I can’t eat gluten, eggs, or dairy, so I haven’t had a good breakfast sandwich in years. But Sunshine Drip has a delicious vegan breakfast sandwich and they have gluten free bread! 🎉 It has vegan eggs, cheese, and sausage. I got it with regular sausage. Thank you for making my breakfast sandwich dreams come true! And thank you SOOO much for carrying vegan and gluten free options!!! (You should advertise that more because it’s rare, especially for breakfast.)
A fantastic stop with stellar service, delicious pastries, and a cozy vibe that keeps everyone coming back for more.

happened upon this place by accident and could not have been happier. I have celiac disease and finding decent GF food is a challenge...finding GREAT GF food is almost impossible. THIS WAS FANTASTIC and not a single allergic reaction to anything. Such a lovely surprise, I fully recommend it.
Charming spot near a ferry terminal with a unique menu, great atmosphere, and tasty selections, perfect for a relaxed meal between adventures.

Not all who wander are lost.
Sought out a restaurant with gluten free options near Coupeville. Low and behold it was a short walk from where we were staying at Ft. Casey State Park campground.
The menu is marked with all their GF options and our server (Joy) was helpful in selections that could be modified with GF bread. While there are not a huge number of GF options, there were plenty of great choices including a GF clam chowder that was chock full of clams and flavor. The crab cakes were also GF and NOT packed full of peppers and the like that can overpower crab.
Between the FANTASTIC service by Joy and receptionist (sorry we did not catch her name), the excellent food, and the eclectic atmosphere -- Callen's is and will be our go to place when we again visit Whidbey or camp at Fort Casey (several times per year).
Only drawback may be a relatively small main dining room and folks that park themselves during the lunch hour. Perhaps if those who are hogging a table (in the main dining area) could see the waiting area, maybe they would realize they are costing the restaurant $ and the wait staff the opportunity for more tips.
In any case -- go, eat -- you will enjoy!
