Great food though pricy. Make a reservation because it’s always busy. They have a menu indicating gluten free, nut free, dairy free - just ask for it. Service could be either great or meh.
Stumble upon a vibrant spot with a cozy vibe, generous portions, and a standout selection of homemade dishes that promise a delightful experience.

We came across this restaurant by chance while on a day trip to Oxford. We were attracted by its menu, inviting decor and size. We returned with our friend for lunch and enjoyed the mixed grill, Lamb Shwarma and grilled lamb chops with a very good bottle of Lebanese red and Lebanese coffee to finish. Good portions and well presented dishes. Excellent choice of vegetarian and mezze and also plenty of gluten-free options. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful homemade food, excellent service and welcoming atmosphere. We look forward to our return.
Charming spot with a cozy vibe, perfect for enjoying a satisfying meal without the lunchtime rush.

I wouldn't recommend it for gluten intolerant/ celiacs. I asked about gluten free options before sitting and was told "we have many options". Eventually 99% of the manu was with gluten and I ended up getting a thin slice of meat with some raw vegetables, for which I paid 16 pounds. There are many other better restaurants in Oxford that respect their gluten-free costumers.
Love Al-Shami! I especially appreciate the clearly marked and abundant vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. Also a broad selection of gluten free choices though these are not labelled. Great for large groups both in terms of being able to share small plates but also in terms of the restaurant's ability to accommodate everyone at the same table. A very popular spot with Oxford University clubs and organizations. The food is all phenomenal and very reasonably priced. Definitely get the hummus!
Expect a bustling vibe and thoughtful service, especially for those with dietary needs, making it a great spot to book in advance.

I love this place! The food is so good I just wish they made gluten free bread. The breads look SO GOOD and everyone I dine with loves them. I wish I could partake!
Expect helpful service and decent portion sizes, with plenty of options to satisfy everyone's cravings.

I really like this restaurant and the food is always good but I am gluten intolerant and ate a dish which was labelled GF. Sadly I was very ill after eating this and I did let the restaurant know but have had no response.
Disappointing and won’t risk eating there again.
I just had mezze buffet for 50 delivered for a party from LB's. It was excellent, wonderful food, delivered on time (about 20 mins before the time I had asked, which was fine), on serving dishes, each platter labeled and noted if vegetarian, gluten free, etc. Everyone enjoyed the food - it's very good for a mix of ages and cultures, which is what we had (age 2 to 80 and 9 nationalities).
There was far too much. We had only 42 who stayed for the meal in the end, but ate only half the food! (We did have some other snacks). But the great thing is that all except the salad is highly freezable.
Just one problem - there was no Kibbe? I was looking forward to that, and it was on the list but none appeared. But I think we had quite a bit more Sam Bousek to make up for it.
Absolutely delicious! Stopped for lunch today and had the chicken tagine - it was very tasty.
They have lots of Gluten Free (GF) options too which is a bonus!
