Our server was awesome. My husband did not care for the chicken alfredo. He said the chicken was like eating a piece of rubber. My son had the pasta meatballs and said the meatballs were absolutely horrible. I had the gluten-free pasta noodles with meat sauce and it was absolutely disgusting. However, you are talking about a family that never eats out and is used to making home meal Italian dishes. The restaurant seemed cozy but smelled like it needed a good cleaning. It had that dirty food smell to it.😬
Rumors has been one of my favorite Go-To places for almost 15 years! Through the years there has been an occasional rude or inattentive server but overall never anything that would make me stop going back. For the most part I've always been very happy with my service (especially because I try to sit in the sections of the vetted servers). The food never disappoints! I am Celiac GLUTEN-FREE and while they do not have a dedicated GF menu (and the staff has very little knowledge of this issue) I have never had a reaction as long as I stick to the "safe" foods: breakfast - no toast, no gravy, lunch/dinner - salads (no pita chips, pita bread, or croutons), grape leaves, hummus, and grilled chicken. I love Tabooli and the kitchen staff is always willing to make me a fresh batch without the cracked wheat/bulgar. The drinks are great, they always have fun seasonal cocktails. Even my son loves this place and he says they have the best gyro meat in town!
