This is a very unique restaurant, a hidden gem. The food is delicious, genuine Mexican food and gluten free friendly. Their gorditas are some of the best I’ve ever tried!
Fantastic food and customer service. Seems like a lot of vegetarian options and they have a separate fryer for flour or corn tortillas. Gluten free was easy. They made my wife her own Pico de gallo so it was not too spicy. I highly recommend this restaurant. Fresh food prepared with care.
An outstanding vibe with knowledgeable staff makes this spot a must-visit for an enjoyable experience that won't let you down!

Love this place!! The vibe is outstanding and all the staff are knowledgeable about what is gluten-free or not on the menu, which is a HUGE deal for me since I have Celiac Disease. You won't be disappointed!
Love this place! A go to whenever we visit. I’m gluten free and haven’t had any issues if I just get my order a bit modified. They’re so friendly! Very good food too
Authentic Mexican vibes with a hit-or-miss consistency, plus a unique twist of soft corn taco shells by default!

Sometimes this is the best authentic Mexican north of the border and other times it is just above average for the area. They have been able to handle gluten allergies without fail ( soft corn taco shells) on their popular combo but messed up a fairy allergy ( cheese on the side of beans on the combo two weeks ago). The nice thing is there is no dairy on tacos by default ( you would have to request sour cream or cheese)
Taco lovers rave about the fish and al pastor varieties, and don't miss the delicious bean dip with zesty green salsa!

We love the fish tacos here. Typically I get a regular fish taco and one al pastor style, and I'm always debating about which one I like better. Their regular ground beef tacos are good as well, and everything else I have tried has been fine. Also love their bean dip with the green salsa. I have not specifically asked on ingredients, but have always been fine of the gluten side of things as long as the tortillas are corn.
Normally I love coming to Costa Vida. It is one of the few restaurants I can eat at and know what I am getting is gluten free, while also being delicious. Usually the staff is very accommodating to my allergy by changing gloves and cooking my tortillas on a separate surface so I don’t get sick from cross contamination. Today was a completely different experience. The staff had no clue what a gluten allergy was and didn’t speak enough English to understand me other than that I needed a corn tortilla. Because he couldn’t understand me, my corn tortillas were cooked on the same surface as the flour ones, which can make me very sick. I was trying not to be rude, but why do some employees know the allergen process and others do not? It makes me feel like I can’t come here anymore because I can’t trust that I won’t get sick simply because the employees aren’t trained well enough.
With a unique salsa bar that’s hard to find elsewhere in town, this spot is a must-visit for taco lovers looking to spice things up.

We were at Costco & we love tacos. We try as many as we can while we are in Reno. My wife is gluten free and tacos are where it's at! They have a salsa bar which no one really does anymore in town. We appreciate restraunts that do this. We will be back to try more from the menu.
