Apparently, Republicans don't like avocados or corn tortillas. I didn't know that ordering avocados and corn tortillas could be such a political statement. At Torchy's you can order a Republican or Democrat taco. The Republican comes with jalapeno sausage on a flour tortilla and the Democrat comes with barbacoa and avocado on a corn tortilla. What if you're a Republican, but you're also gluten intolerant? Do you put yourself through the pain of ordering a Republican taco even though the Democrat might be better for you? Or can you ask for democratic substitutions on your Republican taco? At that point, would you just be an independent? Anyways, I ended up getting the Mr. Orange taco and the Fried Avocado taco. They were delicious.

First time eating here. I had the chicken fajitas, my mother had the chicken and beef enchiladas. The food was pretty good, and also very reasonably priced for the amount you get; each of our lunch entrees was around $10, and the chips and queso were complimentary. Also of note: there are a variety of gluten free options on the menu, including the chips and several sides and all the tortillas (which are corn). Their website has a FAQ question on exactly what is gluten free and what isn't, so this could be a good restaurant option for people with gluten sensitivity. No complaints about the service. The decor was very fun, with Day of the Dead theming near the entrance, and colorful ceiling hangings inside.

My favorite lunch spot, always work around my allergy of gluten. Kids quesadilla on corn add extra pico add extra cheese, 😍 let’s add grilled mushrooms to the mix and I would be thrilled 😃 also can you add tamales into the specials (best tamales 🥰ever)

I got the brisket taco and the trio set up with queso, guacamole, and salsa. It was delicious! I went to the collective location. Great vibe. I have a gluten allergy. There is slight cross contamination in the fryer but I didn’t get sick.

Highly recommend this restaurant especially if you have food allergies! My husband has celiac and the waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, and after our food came out the manager came out to check on us and tell my husband about the additional precautions they took in the kitchen with his meal. Also was very tasty! Definitely exceeded my expectations!!

Destiny and Desirae took great care of me and took time to get clean spoons and foods that haven’t been touched on the line or cross contaminated. They were very patient with me and made the stressful experience of eating out with an autoimmune disease much more enjoyable!

I am gluten and dairy intolerant, when I ordered the Mexican chicken light menu, I asked if it had any dairy in it, the manager (Ricky) came to my table and said yes the chicken had some Bc it was marinated and the marinade contain dairy. I asked than for steak and he personally cooked my meal for me! Now that is customer service! Huge menu, lots of cool and creative dishes. I saw lots of deals on beer etc, Friendly stuff, place looked clean.

First timers and we were suprised at how good it was. My wife had celiac they made sure her food was gluten free. Both our dinners were excellent quality and served as ordered. Nice clean atmosphere. We will def be back!

Wow! I’ve had Velvet Taco before at different locations but the courtesy and customer service I was given at this location has been unmatched! I have celiac disease and can’t eat gluten. The manager Zack was very friendly and warm when taking my order. The team made sure to inform me that the chips are cross contaminated. I didn’t even have to ask. I enjoyed my taco so much, I came back later in the day for another round. I honestly came back again today because gluten free, salmon tacos and gluten free queso while receiving top notch customer service and employee concern can not be beat. Other restaurants are not as educated or dedicated to treating those with celiac with such great treatment. 5 stars!!

I recently just changed to a gluten free/dairy free diet. I was having a bit of a challenge at first finding something that fit my restrictions, but they were able to cater to my needs! When I got my chips, I was a little hesitant to ask if they were gluten free or not but I’m glad I did! The to go gal was more than happy to give me information and give me gluten free corn chips!! For me and my daughter, this is one of the few places that we can go to where the tacos are gluten free, and their homemade taco sauce is also gluten free. Not only that, but it's been family owned for over 30 years, and it's definitely worth the trip to stop by, and grab some tacos, and say hi to, Jerrie, the owner and manager. ✌️🍀

Y’all, if you need a good taco and the best effing marg in town, come HERE. Cole was fantastic, courteous, and never overbearing. I’m not exaggerating when I say - best tacos I’ve ever had. I’m unintentionally high maintenance — gluten free and vegetarian— and the beyond meat tacos are to die for. But let me just say, that cauliflower taco— Holy Mother of Pearl I want to eat a bajillion of them. And the margaritas— hellurrrrrrrrr, delish. I’m from LA, and now live in MO, and I’ve never had a more delicious meal. Swear to you, it’s worth every bite. Come hungry, leave satisfied. ASK FOR COLE. Hot tip; only thing I would change, is a taco sampler platter where you could get one of everything. Salsa- 10/10 Chips- 10/10 Vegetarian options: 10/10 My wife loved the fish tacos too, ps.

My husband and I have been to many Mexican restaurants (he's Mexican American) and this is by far the best one! The food was AMAZING and the staff was the friendliest we've ever had. I got the camorones jalisco at the suggestion of the waiter - probably one of my favorite meals ever. Their flan was also incredible! They were also very understanding about my gluten intolerance. Very easy to eat gluten free here!

Pretty good food here. Definitely enjoyed the food. Service, on the other hand. I think our waiter was a little bit on the autistic side. He really didn't know anything about the food. When I asked him that I was gluten free he had no idea what that was. We waited about an hour and a half to 2 hours and they kept telling us over and over again 15 more minutes. The food was really good but I'll never come back here again. The servers the service. I think the only reason this place is still open is because it's downtown. There's another Mexican restaurant right around the corner. Just go there. Their service is much better and their food is a whole lot better. Definitely won't go back here again. All their servers were awful. Definitely needs to be under new management management here. Sucks . I know I'm a business owner

Braised beef, short rib enchilada- not enough for the price ($16) nuts in the enchilada …??? The sauce was like a spaghetti sauce and the Carne Molida tacos ($10) Fair the ground beef was good. But there are Brussels sprouts in the taco …??? The chips and salsa - fluffy chips fresh made. The salsa is a smoky chipotle. Fast and friendly service. Willing to do dairy free and gluten free options.
