Gluten free options NOT gluten free!
Most items on the menu marked as ‘gluten free option’ are actually fried in the same fryer and oil as gluten containing ingredients (e.g. sweet potato wedges, salt & pepper squid, arancini…)
Whilst they may have been gluten free prior to being cooked, they definitely aren’t when served to you. Be careful anyone with an intolerance or Coeliac.
Non-alcoholic yuzu sake cocktail was delicious though!
Enjoy a beachfront vibe with delicious fish, great views, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back for more.

Attention all Coeliac’s!
We had Fish & Chips today. Absolutely delicious! My husband is a Coeliac and the chips are Gluten Free and he had grilled fish with his chips instead of the batter. He enjoyed every mouthful.
I had the batter on my fish & potato scollops as I am not a Coeliac. The best batter ever! We really loved it. Every mouthful.
We will definitely be back. Very friendly and welcoming service. It was so enjoyable to sit on the bench at the beachfront and enjoy our lunch.
First time I went they had no gluten free buns and got told the low carb glutwn friendly bun was also gluten free, but I guess that doesn't matter because the second time gluten free meant nothing because blood tests show there's trace amounts of gluten in my system, I don't eat anything with gluten, so its obviously getting contaminated. Which absolutely sucks because grill'd was the only place with actual "gluten free" -so I thought. Have an allergy? Yeah you can never go out.
The staff are amazing!! Heaps of gluten free options. They make a “super special bean taco” - you have to ask for it but it’s so worth it!!! Every hour the staff sing and get the crowd involved. Yell your requests out to Matt (manager?) and he’ll play your fav songs and always sings happy birthday for events.
And ask him to tell you a taco joke hahahaa
A cozy spot with amazing service, great coffee, and a tasty variety of options, plus a standout homemade lemon cake.

The service and the breaky was amazing!
- super friendly staff
- great coffee
- great breaky (good variety of options, add-ons and gluten free bread available).
- Today they also had an amazing homemade lemon cake!❤️
I definitely recommend!
Thanks guys!
Great coffee. Great staff. The owner Lucille offers an authentic taste of France in Dee Why (...and Mona Vale!). Love the gluten free baguettes and my fave almond croissant 🥐😋
Love their organic coffee with the liquid Lindt Chocolate. Tried it but due to my gluten intolerance I can't have it anymore, but it tastes AWESOME!
Also love their buckwheat brekky-crepes and chocolate crepes. Yummy.
The staff is nice and friendly and the atmosphere in the cafe is great.
The only downside is that it isn't all organic, but that is a general downside in Dee Why. :-(
Doesn't change that the products at Cabana taste great. :-)
We were regulars here when living in the area and our last meal was 12 months ago. It was always excellent food. Not sure if they have changed hands or changes chef but the standard has dropped and would not go here again. Ever. The fishcakes were ?? No taste and thin and burnt. The satays were rubbery and covered in a glutenous sauce. The pad se yew was overcooked and bland. We had to ask for more rish sauce. The papaya salad was over salted. With the prices charged for each dish they need to lift their game 100%. Such a shame it has gone downhill so.badly. With such a prime location. All the other eating places were packed. We were the only 2. Should have read the signs. No next time for us.
