Unfortunately, my experience at Betty’s Burgers in Toowoomba was deeply disappointing and frustrating, particularly as a long-time vegan who is careful about dietary choices. When placing our order, we requested the vegan puff rice patty on a vegan roll. We also asked whether vegan cheese and vegan mayo were available, but the staff member assisting us confidently stated that they were not. We clarified our vegan preferences multiple times during the ordering process. Eventually, we opted for the patty with just tomato sauce due to the lack of vegan condiments. When the burger arrived, I ate half of it, assuming it was the vegan puff rice patty. I even remarked on how impressive it was, thinking it must be a particularly realistic plant-based option. However, my friend, who had dined at Betty’s before, questioned it. Upon confirming with the kitchen staff, I discovered to my horror that I had been served a classic beef patty instead of the vegan option I had ordered. As someone who has been vegan for 30 years, this was incredibly distressing. I immediately brought it to the attention of the front counter staff, only to be met with an explanation that they thought I “just wanted the gluten-free vegan roll,” completely ignoring my explicit request for a vegan patty and condiments. This demonstrates a clear lack of understanding of dietary requirements and an inability to properly process or double-check orders. What makes this worse is that other establishments, typically review the order with the customer to ensure everything is correct. Betty’s Burgers failed at every step, from taking the order to serving the correct item. I cannot recommend Betty’s Burgers to anyone with specific dietary preferences or allergies. This experience highlights a lack of care, competence, and accountability, which could have serious implications for those with dietary restrictions or food intolerances.

Food as always was amazing!! It’s so hard to find a Gluten Free meal that my celiac partner doesn’t have to worry about.. Fitzy’s never disappoints when it’s comes to safety of food for allergies!! Thanks again we will be back 😁

Tldr: Fantastic Coffee and Amazing food. Even pleased the harshest of critics, my mum. Fantastic little breakfast spot. I brought my mum here and she is a very hard person to please 😂. But she actually loved this place so that has to speak volumes. The coffee was the perfect temp and tasted great. I ordered a dirty chai and mum got a flat white. As for food mum had a strange request and got a toasted ham and onion sandwich with no cheese on gluten free bread. They triple checked that they had everything right and even asked if she wanted the onion cooked or not. Very thorough. I just got Korean fried chicken with a spicy sauce (yes for breakfast, it was on the breakfast menu 😂) and it was fantastic, for a non Asian restaurant they definitely delivered. Love the atmosphere and the staff too they were extremely friendly and will go the extra mile for you. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're around or even near the hooper center.

Great lunch and coffee on our visit to Toowoomba during the Carnival. Service was fantastic despite being busy. Gluten free options, and staff happy to assist with avoiding sugar and flour. What I appreciated most was that when I pointed out that they had forgotten to serve me an extra item I had ordered as part of my meal, they handled the interaction in a way that put me at ease. We love going to Tailgate Sports Bar. Great hot dogs, loaded fries and burgers made with gluten free buns. What a great choice. Great atmosphere with the sports playing on the screens. Taken a few of our friends to this great find. GO check it out yourself.

We had a group of people with coeliac disease dine here for lunch. The food was delicious and the staff had a great knowledge of how to cook and serve safe gluten free food (make sure to let them know you are coeliac). AND they have a serperate fryer for chips! Their coffee was the best! Will definitely be back

This chef goes above & beyond for me and my son’s food allergies & that itself is SO refreshing! She will cook gluten free chips in a seperate pan, no place does this for us. The food & taste is sensational. The chef is very creative with dishes, so if you have allergies and it’s not on the menu she will design meals to share and she never fails us. Thankyou George banks. 🏦 incredible value, especially for two!

Absolutely loved the place The ambience is very refreshing and the staff are ever so welcoming Fresh coffee scent wafts down as you go up the little steps They have ample gluten free/ low gluten and dairy free options on the menu If you sit outside at the back, you'll have a pleasant breakky buddy - a lovely parrot! Worth driving down with friends and family or by yourself for a nice breakfast brunch or coffee!

A beautiful woman and I decided to go for coffee at Jilly’s on our first date. Five years later, that beautiful woman and I are happily married, and always fondly reminisce when we return. A bonus since she has discovered she’s a coeliac is Jilly’s always have delicious gluten free options and are often open late. I particularly enjoy the savoury menu. Fun fact: Jilly’s isn’t paying me for this review.

Gips really impressed me by accommodating my very large group in one of their function rooms for us to dine in. The venue was beautiful, the food arrived at the same time, service was great and was delicious too. I’m coeliac as well, and they were able to guarantee my meal was gluten free, and fried items were deep fried in a separate fryer. What a joy to eat hot chips!!! I will definitely be returning next time I’m in Toowoomba.
