So this week has been our first & second visit to The Bargeman's Rest & we were only on the island for 3 days. So we were given a warm welcome as we entered the establishment looking to dine & have a couple of cold beers. After a quick study of the menu to see what could be adapted to Gluten Free, we placed our order, once all our food was delivered to us, we were not disappointed. Our food choices were full of flavours, with the portions being a little on the larger size, so maybe we will have to walk the long way back to our hotel. So a warm welcome to a great establishment, with an amazing atmosphere, where really good food is being served, along the waters edge & very close to the centre of Newport IOW, so what is not to love about The Bargemans Rest? Thanks to all of the team who were working & happy to help during our visits. A really big Thank You. We plan to return again to dine as soon as we can get back to the island. Cheers.

I had my daughter’s christening reception here and Jon & Team were exceptional. They made our day so special with their food and service. They also cater for allergies as my wife was coeliac. The function room was done beautifully and we were looked after perfectly. I cannot recommend this pub for functions any more and will return for the roast on Sundays. Paul
