Really tasty pizza and a good drinks selection. The thing that makes this place excellent is the opportunity to watch my gluten intolerant wife happily chow down on pizza and ice-cream sandwiches with confidence.
Excellent customer service. Went with my coeliac husband and staff were knowledgeable about cross contamination and how to prevent it. Plus, great spot to absorb Margate atmosphere.
Really lovely restaurant, food was absolutely perfect. There's not many places around here I've been that will serve a steak cooked blue, and it's a really good indicator of how good a place is in terms of hygiene, freshness, and skill if they do. The steak was gorgeous (bavette is my favourite cut) portions were just right. Poached pear was really elegantly spiced - not heavy handed with it as many places tend towards - and refreshing. Overall the seasoning for every dish we had showed a great degree of skill and care; nothing was bland, nothing was unbalanced or over-salted, and honestly I didn't expect it to be so good for the price. It's about middling on cost, I'd say, but the quality is absolutely top.
The service staff were all absolutely lovely too, very patient when we took our time figuring out what we want (we forgot to ask for a corner or side table and find being surrounded a little overwhelming so took a bit to settle ourselves - such is life when you're ND).
Menu is clear and uncluttered, and vegetarian options and gluten free options are clearly marked, tho I didn't focus on what they were once I saw they had my favourite cut of steak.
We took a short flight of stairs from the grass at the top and then a ramp to get in, but I think there is a long long ramp led route along the bay we might have been able to take - all I can definitely say is that the place is AMBULANT disabled accessible, with space in the toilet to prop your stick, though it didn't have an explicitly accessible toilet (not that I saw). The wooden ramp in front of the door was a bit slippy under my stick in the rain, which I think may just be my needing to replace the rubbery bit at the bottom - it's been happening everywhere lately.
The view over the bay is gorgeous too.
Honestly a gem, definitely recommended.
We are seasoned Caribbean food diners so we can be very picky on this cuisine but I can honestly say it was one of the best we’ve had! My only criticism is whoever is dishing up, need to take more care as 3 of us had the curry goat and for £18 I barely had any meat on my plate!! Sent it back to request more but it’s not a great first impression!
I would go back having said that as the food is outstanding! We sat outside as we were there for the Soul weekender so noise level was moderately high but great for us!!
I am gluten free and there were good choices on the main for GF although not much choice on the starters.
Love it. Sweet staff, chilled atmosphere, Great coffee, gluten free treats, fresh and tasty breakfast/brunch!
Recommend the big breakfast plates and the crumpet sliders.
The Dalby Cafe has the be the only place in Thanet where I can get a proper full English breakfast with gluten free sausages and gluten free toast!!! I've been twice now and I've died and gone to heaven both times!
Being coeliac, finding a place that does a proper full English without having to remove half the items is rare!!
Dalby maybe my new favourite breakfast hang out 😉🫣🤤
Love this bistro been a few times before ticks all boxes for us dog friendly gluten free options and very friendly staff I feel very comfortable here not to mention the lovely view of the sea definitely will return when next in westgate Kent
Consistently good! Caters for a gluten free friend without any hassles, or problems. A great welcome is always assured. Freshly cooked, tasty food, good value and worth checking out any specials alongside the regular menu.
WOW!! We are visiting for the weekend and knew we had to visit Angela's. With our expectations high, we were still blown away!! The mackerel with kohlrabi and scallops were AMAZING, apple cider sorbet FANTASTIC, and every drink - wine, soft, and coffee - was a delight. Not only was the food and drink incredibly fresh, delicious, high quality, perfectly prepared and creatively devised - the service was BEYOND 10/10. We felt so at home and welcomed. We came in 30 Nov @ 2.30pm - a very special shout out to both waiters who served our table and the chefs, for being incredibly accommodating of a gluten + dairy intolerance - altering the dishes we ordered, explaining super clearly the menu and allergens, and the chefs even going the extra mile to serve us a delicious dessert. I have never been accommodated for intolerance so kindly, professionally, and gracefully - this was just truly fantastic. We will be back!!!!
Lovely meals, good variety with vegan and gluten free options. Fantastic value for money and good service. Great view across the Bay with indoor and outdoor seating.
