I cannot praise the Kraken enough. Last Saturday we brought a group of 23 girls and 4 adults to the Kraken. I had previously liaised with Becky who allowed us to pre-order. On the day Becky and her staff were amazing. The food arrived promptly and everything was delicious. Really great value too. One of our group is coeliac and her needs were catered for without any fuss. The pods were warm and cosy. Nothing was too much bother for Becky and her staff. Thoroughly recommend a visit : )

Price a bit on the high side for a chippy but worth it for my mum to be able to eat safely. Staff not the friendliest but you hardly interact with them so its not really an issue.

I never normally leave a review for anywhere but I am obsessed with this place 😍!For so many reasons, I am coeliac and have dined breakfast lunch brunch and dinner and the options are amazing and delicious.The staff are superb so so kind so knowledgeable and lovely girl even reassured me that they use separate everything to make my meal and hoped I wouldn’t be worried ! I have been coeliac for 10 and a half years and never have I had so much reassurance from somewhere which is amazing as I feel so normal and relaxed which is rare when going out to eat with an allergy .The food is lovely so much choice which again is rare ! i said i was gluten intolerant from the moment i walked in, when i ordered my food and asked if the soup was gluten free it seemed majorly out of the servers way to do that for me, she said she’d ask. She never came back, ordered the soup and fries i asked for, not letting me know if they were gluten free or not. had to ask a different server to go and check twice about the fries and soup, after they had arrived. While the food was delicious, the views spectacular and the service excellent, it strikes me as strange that they can't supply mushrooms or a 'oven roasted tomato' with a steak meal when you tell them you are dairy and gluten intolerant. The food here was absolutely wonderful, and we really enjoyed getting a taste of the local cuisine. Since my partner is a very sensitive Coeliac, we made sure to inform the restaurant when booking—and I’m happy to say we were incredibly well taken care of.
The well-informed staff were kind and attentive, guiding us through the menu and pointing out what was safe to order. While they were upfront about the general risks of cross-contamination (since the food is prepared in the same kitchen), they went above and beyond to reassure us. They double-checked everything with the kitchen, made sure separate cookware and fryers were used, and handled everything with real care. They even adapted certain dishes to be gluten-free for us.
My partner had absolutely no symptoms after the meal, which further confirms the level of care and precautions the restaurant took on our behalf.
