Fantastic food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. We had udon and yakisoba veggie dishes and the #2 veggie sushi platter. Soooooo many flavours and delicious textures in each dish. We also had the yakitori starter and wished we'd ordered two. The music was audible but not too loud. The restaurant was cozy and comfortable. Everything was done to a high standard. Bonus points for vegan AND gluten free options on the menu. Will definitely be back!!!
A gem of a cafe. So accommodating, with plenty of gluten free options. Excellent coffee, good quality local bread and cakes. Owner and staff were really welcoming and friendly. Will be back!
Tried this place for first time today and can honestly say that.......... " I will never be back".. because I'm coeliac and have to eat gluten free doesn't mean I don't have taste buds ..... I like to try a couple of things at a time That's on the gluten free menu... and the only thing we had that was edible was the microwave scrambled eggs and some of the toast that was properly toasted and looked toast.....
The microwave poached eggs were not great...toast not great as some weren't even toasted..... as for the French toast..... well I have never tasted anything so vile in my life and I've been here a while.. to any Coeliacs out there the bread was like the stuff you first got from the chemist years ago......and it made the French toast taste so so bad.. at the prices they charge they could afford a nice gluten free Genius loaf or a gluten free Warburton's loaf...
Great brunch spot in Paisley! Gluten free items aren’t marked on the menu but they have gluten free bread available and can make most of the sandwiches gluten free. They don’t have a dedicated gluten free fryer. Be prepared to wait a wee while at busy times on the weekend, you can even phone ahead to add your name to the list. ☺️
Friendly, helpful staff and a good choice of food. They were very understanding of my gluten intolerance. I had a really tasty seafood risotto. Portions are a good size. They have entertainment some evenings.
Love Kettle Black! We moved from Edinburgh to Renfrew and this cafe helps us capture that up market town feel. The staff are lovely and even remember my dietary needs.
You gotta try the gluten free and dairy free cream cheese and chive bagel.
The inside could be a bit more upmarket eg comfort chairs and more interesting decor, but this has improved a little since the rebrand.
As a haiku:
A warm tea’s embrace,
Edinburgh charm but new place
The bagels taste great.
