Needed to find somewhere for a family get together on 30th May (lunchtime) with people coming from different locations, Stumbled across The King's Mead and I am so glad that we did. Wonderful and attentive service from Debbie, quality food (6 clean plates was evidence of that) and a lovely ambience to the restaurant. Everyone was welcoming & polite; and one of our group needed the gluten-free option which was also very varied compared to other places we have visited. We all agreed that we would be returning again in the future - top marks for a fantastic restaurant.
Charming spot with a cozy conservatory, scenic views, easy parking, and a vibrant atmosphere perfect for families and casual hangouts.

Warm and reasonably comfortable seating. Cannot fault the prices, food or service. One has gluten, soya, milk intolerances but was catered for with personal attention and explanations. Prices are around Β£8.95 per plate with a few cheaper options but great choices, good servings and speedy service. Usually busy and popular with parking in the grounds. Good selection of cakes and hot drinks with specials on board.
Amazing !
I booked to come for afternoon tea with a friend on Friday 17th November. My friend is gluten free, I emailed ahead asking if this would be possible. Well, when we arrived they had gone above and beyond what I thought they would do. We both had a delicious selection of rolls, scones and cakes. Not only did it look fabulous it was delicious too.
The staff are friendly and exceptionally professional. Nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend afternoon tea however they had so many lovely things on the menu and everything we saw going to other tables looked fantastic. I feel I found a little hidden gem in ware !!
Perfect for private celebrations, this spot offers a cozy atmosphere and clearly labeled menu options, with parking just a short walk away.

I booked this restaurant for a family meal to celebrate my wife's birthday (she loves Mexican food). There were 12 of us and we were seated downstairs on request to make a more private affair. The entire experience was wonderful. Good food and a warm service. One of the children has coeliac with the menu full of gluten free dishes, clearly labelled. Parking outside the restaurant has restrictions, however there is a pay car park a short walk away.
