Charlie is more of an indoor playground with dining facilities than a restaurant, although the name 'family restaurant' probably gives that away. The atmosphere is completely aimed at children and families, which is great if that is what you are specifically looking for. The menu also reflects this and therefore offers few surprises. Compliments for the extensive gluten-free range, which was not necessary for us, but was very positive.
What was disappointing was the lack of service. Nowadays you order everything via a tablet, which means there is hardly any interaction with the staff. That feels impersonal and makes it less hospitable. A solution for staff shortages, but it does detract from the experience of service.
The food is really overpriced for what you get.
In short: if your children want to play, this can be a handy place to have something to eat.

Last night I had dinner here with colleagues. Because I eat gluten-free and vegan, I had informed in advance and there were options for that. We received a very warm welcome and had a delicious meal at De Sleutel! The plates were beautifully presented, good portions and the salad with the fries and beetroot burger was also very tasty!

My boyfriend and I really appreciate the menu where we have quite a lot of choice of gluten-free pancakes. It is also nice to be able to make adjustments to the orders. There is no fuss at all and our allergens are treated with certainty and respect. It is very cozy and hospitable and for us always an option to eat after a day at Efteling. The prices are also friendly and it is wonderful to see those local specialties. It is nice to see how local productions are used. For me it gives a nice value to the identity of D'n Berepot.

I have never eaten such a disgusting gluten-free pizza as today, gluten-free pizza with anchovies, the base is like a rubber shoe sole. There were literally 3 pieces of anchovies on the pizza and for the rest a mountain of capers and a mountain of olives! And then the pizza was lukewarm too!!! Yuck yuck!, you will not see me ordering here again!

Very tasty pancakes, the special was asparagus with salmon. The flammkuchen brie is also recommended if you want something other than pancakes. The children found the oven fries to taste different.
Very busy on Saturday so reservations are advised. Nice play area for the older children upstairs and for the little ones there is a play corner downstairs. We had a nice afternoon there with friends. Also for gluten allergy you can go there well.

A dream restaurant. Delicious food with a menu that is definitely satisfying. There are drinks of all kinds. We all enjoyed ourselves and there were no complaints about anything. It took a while for all the food to arrive but not in a way that was disruptive. I am a vegetarian and I had a dish for myself. Another person was celiac and she also had suitable food. And there was an excellent dessert.
In general, this concept that the kitchen is part of the restaurant, or at least you can see it, is nice. The whole atmosphere was good. Definitely recommended.
