Very happy with our experiences here. Had a couple of breakfasts and one dinner. Very friendly service and the food was excellent.
The Roti was fantastic, and I had breakfast scrambled eggs on one and it was superb - told a friend and she joined us the second time and she agreed. I also had a dinner lamb wrap in a Roti and it was also excellent. To be honest, the Roti is so good you could probably wrap an old shoe in it and it would be good.
My wife, who is celiac, simply had to mention it and the staff knew what to modify to make her a meal she'd enjoy. As simply as that sounds, it's not always the case.
If I am ever in Pahia again, will be visiting.
A warm and inviting cafe beside the city marina surrounded by a number of cafes and next door to a museum and short walk to the Kauri Clock Museum. Good selection of gluten free food.
Chill spot with a lovely view, tons of seating, and a diverse menu that'll keep everyone happy.

I love coming here as someone who has coeliac disease. There are lots of yummy gluten free options and even a gluten free menu. Thank you for providing a range for coeliac sufferers that includes more than lettuce and fruit!
A chill spot with comfy digs and cool tunes, known for third wave coffee, creative cocktails, and some vegan options; the kids are sorted too.

The vegan salad was delicious and didn't need the haloumi I added. It was healthy, satisfying, and would have been great on its own. The salted caramel almond slice was also good, and it was gluten-free, vegan, and refined sugar-free. The lemon honey was amazing, especially since I asked for a super strong one and got extra lemon honey ginger syrup and hot water. The staff was friendly. I also found a nice treat for myself at the crystal shop nearby that closes at 1pm.
Charming spot with a serene fountain, perfect for a cozy evening, where tasty offerings delight those with special dietary needs.

Great place for breakfast. They have eggs bene a number of ways and a full counter of baked goods, egg frittata muffins, breakfast sandwiches (including gluten free and keto options). Coffee was excellent and friendly service. Plus the view is pretty spectacular!
Go back in the afternoon for cake, scones and naughty but nice treats

We were blown away by the service we received when we visited. Our daughter has coeliac disease and the staff were super helpful explaining what she could and couldn't eat. When her pizza was a little late coming out, we were given updates to say it was not far away. Everything tasted great and the restaurant filled up while we were there but this didn't mean a drop in the attention we received.
We had originally planned to just get takeaway pizzas and eat on the beach but we're glad we chose to eat in instead. We will definitely be back.
Enjoy the classy, cozy style while visiting this pet-friendly spot, known for its inviting atmosphere and attentive service.

Was happily informed about the specials of 2 large pizzas for $32. It was clearly a popular deal as the place was very busy. Got a table easily enough and was cool to find they offered board games to play. So playing cards was a good option while there was a long wait (though this was because they were down on staff).
We got 2 pizzas for kids to share (Spicy Pepperoni and Popcorn Chicken), and hubby and I shared a gluten free Bacon Cheeseburger. The GF base was excellent and they said they made it on site. Menu would be helpful if things were clearer which toppings were GF. (Regular fries were GF, curly fries were not).
A good atmosphere, fun looking at the old movie posters and car plates, a bit too many tvs which distracted kids (and adults).
Overall worth the good deal if you’re happy to wait.
A fantastic spot with a vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service, perfect for gatherings and accommodating various dietary needs.

Very good experience at Charlotte’s kitchen. Staff were friendly, atmosphere was great (but very busy) and the food came out fast and was delicious. Highly recommend getting at least one pizza!
The best thing is that they take food allergies seriously. The menu is labeled (eg gluten free, dairy free, vegan etc) so you know what’s what. And the staff always ask the kitchen if you have any further questions.
Definitely recommend this place if anyone in the family has dietary restrictions.

My family had a really nice brunch here! The menu is pretty inclusive with lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. I forgot to take a photo of my meal for the review but I got the vegan spiced mushroom dish and it was so nice! I also had fries with vegan aioli and a flat white with oat milk - also really good! The service was a little chaotic being very busy and a relatively new cafe, so even the staff are still learning what the menu items are - but everyone was super friendly.

Just love ❤️ coming here while in Whangārei.
Had lunch the other week, and every order came out on point.
There was special gluten / no onion , and some I won't mention special requests.
I myself love the seafood chowder with extra bread. (std menu 2 piece bread ain't enough) 😁
Can be very busy at times, so it pays to call n check availability before heading off.
Also, try to get a table outside or inside the restaurant.
Can get very loud in the outside covered area
Amazing portions and mouthwatering flavors make this spot a must-visit, perfect for a leisurely lunch or casual dinner with friends.

Wonderful place for lunch. Great size servings, but also well cooked. The batters were all crispy and moist insides. Nachos (pulled beef! were falling apart and mice smokey flavour. Fussy children were easily satisfied with sharing plates Easy gluten friendly and ketogenic
Quirky vibes with cool art make this spot enjoyable, even if the burgers could use a little more flavor; thick shakes and tasty sides shine!

Delicious sides and thick shake
Burgers lacked a bit of flavour, could have done with more sauce.
Service was not too bad. They had sold out of buns at 6.30 on a Saturday evening and were given gluten free buns as an alternative.

Thank you for your response Tara, I really appreciate it. I'll amend the scores based on my own (non-coeliac!) experience but leave the original review below to give context to your reply.
I appreciate that mistakes can be made, unfortunately they can have serious consequences but it appears you know that already! Some do not and don't take it seriously and because the effects are delayed (almost exactly 2 hours for my wife, every time it happens) the customer is usually long gone and the business owner is none the wiser.
You also have a frustrated phone message from me waiting for you in the morning (recorded prior to your response) so apologies for that as well!
Original review below:
Coeliacs DO NOT EAT HERE.
Don't label your food as gluten free if you're not sure. And don't advise your customers of gluten free options unless you know what they're talking about.
Please visit here for your GF fix! Absolutely delicious toastie on gluten free (+$2) bread. Nicest toastie ever! All ingredients are GF so just choose your fav 😀 thank you for such a wonderful breakfast

I've been staying locally for work, and my partner and I discovered the best place to eat! The food is so fresh and flavourful, and such a lovely owner. I'm a coeliac, and have to eat gluten free, and I have such confidence eating here, as the owner himself has been gluten free for 20+ years. Most of the menu items are gluten and dairy free, and they even offer gluten free bread. We've tried the scallop fritters, fish tacos, and the fries, all are hands down the best I have ever eaten. Can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu!
An inviting spot with a welcoming vibe, quick service, and a clean kitchen that leaves visitors smiling and satisfied.

Friendly staff, delicious scones & muffins, good coffee, light & airy. They do a good range of cabinet good including gluten-free, as well as meals off the menu. All food looks very tasty. Usual prices. Plenty of parking, very clean. The only possible drawback is the lack of character as it is in a traditional hotel, and there is nothing that can be done about that. Definitely recommend for relaxed visit inside or outside on the terrace.

Wonderful place to soak up the atmosphere beside the water with family, friends, or some alone time. The staff are so happy and welcoming to everyone. Always have a chat and a laugh. I love the gluten-free muffin and their many new creative hot drinks they serve.
Beautifully decorated rustic setting on the beach front. Old school hospitality where the customer matters. Food is amazing, they also cater Beautiful food for celiac!! 5++++
Great menu and service. Good quality food, awesome portions and great awareness of gluten free!
Came for breakfast and lunch on two separate days. Both were awesome.
