Such a lovely lunchtime visit (again). Staff were very knowledgeable of Gluten Free requirements for coeliacs like me. Real fires, lovely food and great beer.

Booked online, only 2 hours before we wanted to dine. Easy to book online.
Arrived a little late due to public transport but that was no problem to the staff.
Preferred our 2 meals, Gluten Free rump steak with the customary items and a standard mixed grill, both meals were excellent with no waste whatsoever. The rump steak took no effort to eat, tender and cooked just the way I asked for and the mixed grill was quality at its best. Presentation of the meals were spot on, and came to the table piping hot.
Can’t wait to return and have already mentioned the Kings Head to some of our friends.
Well done to the Chef!

The atmosphere is lovely but the staff were rude when we mentioned that none of the food was gluten free and the allergen information on each product was covered up. Obviously people with intolerance and allergies are not welcome here and seen as more of an annoyance.
Lovely bar with a Cracking selection of ale(including a gluten free ale when I popped in) lots of local ales to choose from and I presume they brew their own. It’s in a lovely spot in the lower part of buxton a very short walk walk from the pavilion gardens and opera house. Outside sheltered seating. Serves food. Recommended 🍻
