This place is a really lovely gem. Came on a bike ride from London and had lunch here. Was super delicious and my partner is gluten free which they also cater for 🕺 we had the falafel flatbread which was great and they gave us some free pineapple salsa from their Jamaican night which we also adored.
Nicely decorated and stylised. Lovely staff.
10/10 would go again
Our only criticism is we ordered an affogato and it was a milkshake instead of ice cream with espresso but I should have asked. Thank you

The Chaser is a beautiful foodie pub that is always worth a visit. We had excellent service from the waitresses in the garden, which over looks a beautiful heath and church.
As a gluten free vegan (aka total pain!) it’s impossible to eat out at times, so I was totally thrilled to discover GF bartered banana blossom on the menu as a fish substitute (as well as a general great awareness around allergies). It was nice and the portion size was good, but definitely needed more flavour (minted peas, capers, lemon, gherkin etc) as it was on the bland side. My husband had what looked like an impressive burrito but again, had hardly any meat. Still, we’ll return because we’ve had excellent food previously
This charming pub offers a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with a stylish, old-fashioned interior and a cozy inglenook bar. Its spacious outdoor area with a children's playground makes it an ideal family spot. The staff are incredibly accommodating, ensuring all guests, including those with gluten-free needs, feel well cared for.

We booked the pub for a post baptism lunch and they hosted over 20 of us including a newborn and a bunch of toddlers. We had coeliacs and vegetarians and they catered to everyone. Despite more of us turning up they were so incredibly accommodating and made sure everyone was happy and looked after. I can’t thank the staff enough. Shout out to the organiser (think her name is Jane?)! We love The Star and will continue to come here whenever we can :)

We were seated at our booked table and just left, no one explained how to order or took a drinks order after 20 minutes my husband and son went to the bar to order drinks and we all tried to download the app. There was no signal and the WiFi wasn’t great but some of us managed to order our food on the app my daughter and her partner wanted their burgers plain and no option for that on the app so they went up to the bar to order with my other daughter who is coeliac and was told she needs to order from
A member of staff. When at the bar they were told they are not sposed to order from the bar it is table service 🤷🏻‍♀️ now baring in mind we hadn’t had anyone come over to our table since being sat down (now 30mins ago) we didn’t know this. They were allowed to order at the bar apart from
My coeliac daughter who was told she needed to order from a waitress! I managed to find one and asked her to come over to take the order 10 minutes later she still hadn’t come over so I found another waitress who came over straight away. Now the first food ordered came out about 30 mins after ordering which is ok, the other 5 of us were waiting over a hour for our food to come out! Most of the food was nice but my youngest daughter’s pizza was burnt. The manager was serving food and we raised or complaints with him but his excuse was he had only been open 3 weeks and it’s teething problems and no offer of any compensation! About 20 mins after the last person finished some of the plates were cleared then another 10 mins for the others to be taken. We got to the restaurant at 7.30 and at 10.20 we were asked if we wanted to order desserts (the first time anyone came over to our table to take any order) which was met with a no we definitely do not! We ordered all our drinks from the bar or off the app no one ever came over. We had to go to bar to ask where our food was after 55 mins of waiting and that’s when the manager came over. It was sposed to be a family treat meal out for Father’s Day but apart from the company of our 4 children and their partners/friends it was a disaster from
Start to finish hopefully the manager gets it sorted soon as it is a stunning building and most of the food was good.
