Strange experience when we popped in for a cuppa and a coffee this week. Lots of staff around, but they were quite intimidating in the fact, it felt as though we had done something wrong. They were all standing around and staring at customers, rather than busying themselves or working. We felt hurried when we entered and although we only wanted a drink, we were planning on returning for lunch, as the food and menu’s were appealing. However, the menus were whisked away when we ordered our drinks, and the server was gone before we could call after him. From what I saw they had gluten free options available, but little else known as we did not return for lunch as the atmosphere was so uncomfortable.

We have visited this place a few times since summer 2023 and have loved it every time. It has fast become our special place because the food is consistently delicious and the staff are friendly. We went on Sunday and although they were so busy, they took photos for us and were lovely. My sister-in-law is coeliac and the chef was the most helpful out of any restaurant we have been to for how he could adapt the menu for her. She didn't have any problems afterwards, so they clearly wiped down a dedicated area to prepare her food. Basically I adore this place. They work their socks off and I am happy to see it paying off with positive reviews. I am addicted to the marmite mushrooms on toast and I tried the cherry and almond cake last time, which was amazing. There is nothing Babylon Cafe can't do!

Very impressed with the service we received today, the whole team were friendly and welcoming of our doggie on a cold a frosty morning for breakfast. The food was of good quality and service was prompt. Not the cheapest of places but happy to pay extra for a cosy place with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Toilets were clean and pleasant to use too, which I always feel makes a difference. Plenty of gluten free and dairy free / vegan/ vegetarian options too 🤩

A rustic pub in the delightful Sussex village of Isfield with a variety of locally brewed beers including gluten free from Gun brewery. Plenty of seating inside with a sheltered area outside and a garden for eating in or out. Situated next to the Lavender Line another feature worth a visit.

Food is amazing! And the portion sizes are good for their price. The menu specifies gf, veg, vegan etc and is very helpful if you have intolerances such as gluten. The tables are mot crowded together and the atmosphere is relaxing. Wonderful staff too!

Pleasant room and helpful reception and waiting staff. Extremely good food for evening meal and breakfast, cooked by Scottie. An unusual tapas style selection. Try the crispy clams. Also the eggs royale. And the chicken and mushroom ballotine is particularly scrumptious. Gluten free information and food so much better than many places.
