Honestly this was incredible. I recently became badly gluten and dairy intolerant, and can’t even risk contamination. So, as you can expect, eating out or almost eating anything has been very tricky. I’ve had to come to a realisation that almost all of my favourite foods I won’t be able to eat again. I’ve tried some alternatives for pizza and having a gluten and dairy free pizza is usually not the best experience, the crust is usually soggy and sad, and the cheese usually not pleasant tasting. I had the most incredible gluten free and dairy pizza from grain. I didn’t expect to be able to actually have a pizza id enjoy. But it was so good, I wanted to take some home with me.being able to have one of my favourite foods again and for it to taste even better with my adjustments was such an amazing experience. I’m so grateful and you guys have a true gift!
With a fantastic variety of options and super attentive service, this spot makes dining a breeze for everyone looking for tasty choices.

So many gluten free options, it's probably the most choice I've ever had in a restaurant. They are not marked on the menu but the waitress was very helpful and spoke through all my options. I had the steak baguette which was put in a GF bun for me, chips were lovely and crispy
Experience a magical evening with attentive service, perfect for celebrating special moments.

100% the best gluten free burger I've ever eaten! The staff were so friendly & super catering for my needs. They got my order wrong by accident but realised without me even saying a word & had no issue with going & making me a fresh burger (even left the incorrect one to save waste...safe to say they were both eaten!) Will definitely come back!

This hidden gem is located in the village of Johnston, and even though I am local I hadn’t gone in till I heard from word of mouth how good it was, and I wasn’t disappointed! I was greeted by friendly staff and my food arrived promptly and of a high quality and reasonably priced.
I definitely recommend the Hunters chicken and sticky toffee pudding, both of which are gluten free.
This little place needs to be celebrated, my family and I frequent there as much as possible, because of its positive attitude and atmosphere, but most of all the FOOD, with is tasty and beautifully presented! If you’re wanting to try something new, pop along, bring your family (there are toys and books for little ones), bring your dogs, and bring a healthy appetite! Great place!

We had a buffet afternoon tea for 40 people and Andrea and Gethin couldn't have been more accommodating, we had alsorts of dietary requirements including vegan and gluten free. All were catered for and the food was delicious and lots of variety. I had lots of compliments for choosing a venue with such fabulous food 😋

Celiacs be careful! The menu will show that some items are gluten free such as fish fingers with chips and peas but when asked the staff the chips are cooked in the same fryer as other stuff making it unsafe. Also how can fish fingers be gluten free?
Apart from that, garden is lovely, drinks were great, can't fault it but if you have celiac/gluten intolerance you won't have a big choice and I wouldn't trust you won't get sick

The last time I was here, I gingerly came for a coffee and fudge with Lucy, my daughter after one of her many hospital appointments just as COVID lockdown had been lifted It was just what we needed that day, probably a year ago now.
There's an electric charging point for a guest or restaurant car, spacious car park and friendly helpful reception desk as you walk in. The bar staff are always quick to smile and interact and they make me feel as if they remember me, though of course they don't😁
So, belatedly, more recently I booked for supper for Rob and I on Valentines Day. I know, I know! Surely another date for companies to make money out of us?! You know what, sometimes it's important to pick a date and celebrate the good things you have in life and of 14th Feb makes you do that, well that's no bad thing. That night was for me to celebrate Robin and everything he does for us, particularly Lucy who's been so ill out of the blue back in 2020. Not easy for a 25 year old and a step dad she didn't plan on having to be thrown together for 2 years.
So, back to Wolfcastle Country Hotel. I booked it and they assured me they'd tweak the menu for me as a Coeliac when I called. I wanted to treat Rob and surprise him (even if Lucy blew the surprise bit by asking us did we want her to leave for the weekend - twit🤣)
A 6 course meal and coffee and I splashed out unusually on a bottle of Sancerre. Lovely wine to have and try it if you haven't. Its one of my top 10. The food was just the right balance of volume and varied tastes. The magical designs and layout of food on the plate. Wonderful. I can't eat fish and molluscs at the moment unless we line catch them and gut and freeze them or gut and eat them on the day we catch them. So the fish and crustaceans were out for me but Rob loved that course along with the rest. The palet cleanser of sorbet was just right too and a great choice. The chef helped me have courses that worked and were a joy to eat, thanks to all the kitchen staff. They even had GF bread for me which looked and tasted homemade. The table service was excellent and the chap who opened the wine was a little nervous about corks so I reminded him we'd all been there and to take his time and not worry. It would all be fine in the end and he opened it perfectly. All the table staff had their work cut out that night and they worked efficiently and were always personable, pleasant and friendly to deal with. They were busy that's for sure!
As I looked around there were a good handful of 'oldie' couples like ourselves, which heartened me and some younger couples there too. Made me very pleased that while Valentines Day might be a bit of a nonsense, we can still find time to say I love and appreciate you with a meal.
Wolfcastle Country Club did a wonderful event and we've had excellent meals there before. I just haven't taken the time to say and I could have many times before.
We've had such a lovely evening and previous service and food we've taken a membership out and Rob's booked us in for a night, meal and spa day for me for my birthday. Another surprise but altered by me catching COVID just last week. Of all the times and we've been so careful here. Oh well. I'm sitting waiting for my clear test and a gap of 10 days isolating as I'm so keen not to risk anyone else's well being. Glad I do spot check LFT.
So, a big thank you to Wolfcastle Counry Hotel for our fabulous Valentines meal. 👏👏👏
Great local pub with amazing wholesome food. Worth booking especially for Sunday lunch in advance. Great gluten free options. Buy one get one free main meals on February too!
