We've been to a few different The Stand locations in SoCal. It's got a great atmosphere and really nicely designed interior. There are options for vegetarians and gluten free folks and you can even get beer on tap for a full on adult experience.
We hadn't been in a while because they eliminated their Impossible burger option for vegetarians and generally have found that veggie burgers that are attempting to impersonate meat do a better job at providing a burger experience than almost any house-made patty. We came by the Northridge location as a large group of folks we knew were gathering there to give the "Stand Custom Patty" – unfortunately we're sticking with our original assessment. It just isn't as good as a Beyond, Impossible or true "faux meat" patty. That's just our opinion. Some people might love it, but their house-made patty doesn't really simulate a burger experience as good as the others do. (Three of us got it and had the same opinion.)
From our perspective, if want to have an American burger and fries experience, we want it to be as close as possible to the real thing. This veggie patty with black bean forward flavor (also rice, quinoa and various spices) provides a different experience, which on it's own terms is probably fine, but isn't really the burger experience my vegetarian family is looking for.
The staff was friendly. We were there on a crowded Friday night. No one came to wipe a table we sat at after asking a staff member if that could happen. The side sauces we asked for weren't the ones that were brought so we had to ask again.
Free unlimited containers of pickles is a pretty good feature...but with so many options for, what we consider, a real (albeit vegetarian) experience at so many restaurants everywhere, unless The Stand brings back something like the Impossible Burger they used to have, we likely won't be back.
Expect a lively, family-friendly atmosphere with bottomless fries and a slightly worn ambiance that could use some updates.

The food is expensive, they do have bottomless fries, chips with your meal. Very noisy, busy, people bring kids and families. The wait staff are nice and helpful. The dinning areas need upgrades. The place is looking a bit worn down. I am gluten free, they make separate fries and have gluten free buns but we pay extra. I got the turkey burger, very good, their signature sauce is a bit spicy but good. They give plenty of dipping sauces. They clean the tables pretty well.
I'm sharing this as someone eating gluten free, so I can't speak to their other menu items...it's a joy when you learn that a restaurant offers GF meal items. It's especially exciting when it's an Italian restaurant. Sadly, they only offer their GF pasta with two sauces (meaning flour in all the other ones - why?). I went with the bland tomato option. Nothing could enhance it - not salt, pepper, or half a bottle of cheese. But even worse, the bowl was swimming in water and the pasta itself was a mushy glob of a mess. I couldn't eat it. I sent it back and got a small antipasto salad instead (here's where they earn their 2 stars). I'm thankful that they offered GF options. But I'm disappointed that they didn't put any care into offering something delicious or even making sure the pasta was cooked and prepared correctly.
The place offers amazing bread and emphasizes careful preparation, but be ready for a bit of a splurge.

The gluten-free bread is amazing! I have not had a reaction to the cross contamination. The Northridge location really tries to be careful. I always let them know i am very sensitive. It is expensive at an extra $3.25.
Sharkeys always delivers. Fresh and healthy choices available, but also indulgent comfort food too. Being gluten free and health minded I appreciate having this as a regular go-to, always great!
I have dined at Emle’s many times and this most recent time the food was average at best. I’m not sure if they were short staffed but after 20 minutes I had to waive down a gentleman so we could get tableware and order. I was happy to have found a great breakfast place in Northridge with gluten free options but after last time I’m not sure if I will be returning.
As a celiac person this place is perfect!! The pho, and summer rolls are GF and delicious!! Been going here since college and I still come back to get my fix!!
