I have to eat gluten Free . So I ordered a gluten free pizza with chicken and peppers. And the pizza had little to no flavor because they didn't add any spices to it. And it was difficult to cut the pizza .

Friendly atmosphere and good food , fast service. we asked for gluten free food and they knew what it was! When I visit Joliet to meet with my good friend, we always stop at Vela's for lunch. Is it the good food? Yes! Is it the friendly, but professional service? Yes! Is it the kind of place where you can just relax,spend time and not feel rushed with friends or family in the warmth of an enjoyable restaurant? Absolutely! The cost of lunch, also makes it a practical choice for families and friends to enjoy. You know I love it so much, that I'm going back tomorrow.

I Eat gluten free so the only thing I can have are the salads . I always have the apple pecan chicken salad, Without the cheese. And it tastes good.

The service was exceptional. Having cheese curds as an appetizer option is a plus. My burger was delicious and having a gluten free bun as an option made it twice as good.

Horrible place, just ate with some friends and told my server before we even started ordering I have a gluten ALLERGY. i ordered the salmon and when he brought my food out a sauce was included. i asked if it was gluten free and he had to ask a manager. totally fine not to know so i appreciate asking, he came back and said it’s in the clear so i began to eat it. No joke five minutes later he says he’s been asking around and it is not gluten free… after i’ve already been eating it. It was on the receipt so it was clearly known and i am allergic!! very disappointed and upset.

I organized the breakfast and lunch menus for a conference of more than 125 participants, with many different dietary restrictions. I never felt challenged as Tom and his team found solutions for all my needs. Everyone was fed with no one having to "bring" their own lunch. I received many compliments and could only say it was all due to the cooperation of The Great American Bagel team on Essington Road in Joliet. Tom personally worked with me to alter menu items to accommodate all the dietary issues. Everything looked yummy and no one felt awkward. DON'T COUNT THEM OUT BECAUSE THEIR MAIN FARE IS BAGELS! They made amazing salads and fruit dishes. Just some of what they had to adjust for: Gluten free, Dairy free, No Peanuts, Vegans, and Vegetarians. Their Vegie Sandwiches and Wraps are marvelous. The attention to detail and pleasant manner of the staff are rare in this "fast food" business. TRY THEM. You'll stop torturing yourself trying to find delicious items at a great price.

This is an adorable restaurant tucked away in Joliet. We made a reservation the day before and were seated immediately upon arrival. The atmosphere is cute and cozy, almost homie with eclectic decorations and mismatched plates. You could feel the love out into the decorating. I had the fillet with mashed sweet potatoes and asparagus, and it was an absolute delight cooked perfectly. Everything about my meal was amazing. The server was very attentive And answered my questions regarding my food, sensitivities without any issues or attitude, even when she had to go into the back and asked the chef. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. If I could add anything to the menu, I would love a gluten-free dessert and to have what items are gluten-free indicated on the menu. I also noticed that the online menu is no longer accurate as of this time. I was a bit disappointed to find they no longer had lamb chops, which was planned order in addition to the pricing being off. The pricing difference weren’t so large that it made a huge difference in my budget as a person who needs to plan both for budget and dietary requirements accurate online menus are extremely helpful.
