My fiancé and I stopped in here on our trip to the Finger Lakes. We discovered it because it was rated as a safe option for people with celiac disease and can’t have gluten. The restaurant was packed- a great sign- but we were seated quickly. All the food is farm to table, so although the menu is not expansive, every option is clearly well thought out and all sounded delicious. We started with the salad. It was fresh and light, but a little plain and would’ve probably tried another starter. For the main, we both tried the Duck Special. We were both blown away- the duck was perfectly cooked, and the combination of the seasoned crispy duck skin with the jam was heavenly. It was probably one of the best presentations of duck I’ve had. To top it off, we tried their gluten free chocolate dessert- if you love chocolate this is a must try. It was a rich chocolate rosemary terrine with a light whipped cream, candied rosemary, and fresh sweet tart raspberries to cut through the heaviness. Divine! If you’re in the area, definitely give Graft a try. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the food!
Don’t order the lasagna the cheese was over cooked and then they must’ve reheated it again and added fresh cheese on top. I hope I don’t get sick. Also the breadstick was sad, felt like I was on kitchen nightmares, half was soft and half was hard as a brick. Maybe it was sitting all day in a heating rack or something. My sisters salmon wasn’t cooked (barely). This is my first ever bad review of a place. The gluten pizza was decent I don’t recommend ordering anything other than pizza though. Wish I could add my sad looking picture of my food but I don’t know how this review thing works. SMH.
I really enjoyed the music of Jesse Sprinkles who played here and their Jambalaya. Also the Niagara wine is so sweet and good. The server was right when he described this as juice with alcohol. My Fiancée did not find the bbq pulled pork anything to write home about and found it too rich for his pallet. I'm on a gluten free diet and found my meal terrific. It is nice and spicy and hot and oddly has mussels in it. I'm not keen on the mussles as the flavour is a little bit much for this dish but the dish itself was outstanding. I was not use to a jambalaya with mussels but I'm all for a new twist to an old dish. The service was very good although the bartender was slow and I wondered if she shouldn't be a little better with her wait staff as they are serving meals. Someone who has wine to accompany their meal should not have to pause in the middle of eating to wait for their beverage. Watching our great waiter it was clear the bartender was not servicing his tables in an orderly manner. This is a MGR issue and should be taken up in staff meetings. All in all the gentleman playing music totally made this an amazing night for my liking. His voice and music were outstanding and his band is named the handsome young ladies. This man had the most incredible sense of percussive rhythm and and ability to make his stylistic interpretation work tremendously well with his vocal colour and range. I enjoyed my meal the great wine and really appreciate Jessies music and his last song By Sade smooth operator when I was leaving.
