While exploring St. Ives Harbour, after a Googling for sea food place, we stumbled upon a hidden gem: Porthminster Kitchen. This charming restaurant, though not immediately noticeable, offers a delightful culinary experience.
The restaurant's interior is modern with a beautiful designed old wood frammed fireplace that creates a relaxed dining atmosphere.
However, the entrance to the second floor dining area could be better marked to attract more guests.
Food:
The menu at Porthminster Kitchen features a creative and diverse selection of dishes. We started with the Korean Fried Cauliflower and a custom salad, both beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
For our mains, we had the Roasted Hake Fillet and the Whole Cornish Sole, which were cooked to perfection and showcased the freshness of the ingredients.
To finish, the Crispy Rice Pudin with Coconut Sorbet was a delightful and refreshing dessert, particularly appealing to vegan and gluten-free diners.
Service:
The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made recommendations based on our preferences.
We highly recommend!! Yummy 😋🤤
With a stunning view and a relaxed vibe, this spot offers beautifully cooked dishes in a casual setting, perfect for a chill night out.

Please review your options for gluten free diners! After many years of wanting to visit, I called to ask about gluten free options for brunch and was told (by a coeliac member of staff no less!) that most of the options were very "bready" and they didn't even offer gluten free bread! I said they could just buy some in from a supermarket and he answered that they'd have to throw it away due to lack of demand. I suggested they could freeze it and use as needed but he said they wouldn't do that!
I'm so disappointed and won't be visiting. This is not a review to cause trouble, this is an appeal to reconsider how you might welcome the HUGE (and growing) number of people who can't eat gluten.
When so many small independents and large chains are managing to do it and doing it well, this is incredibly frustrating from a such a reputable and well-established eaterie. Please do better.

A top notch experience in every way. Imaginative and diverse menu, food beautifully presented, and the taste sensation matched how it looked (which all too often isn't the case...!). We had the wine pairing which was also good and matched perfectly the various courses. The gluten free requirements of my wife were dealt with perfectly and with no hassle at all, which always makes dining together a much more enjoyable experience for both of us. Well done One Fish Street, a great experience at reasonable prices.
