Hook & Barrel is my favorite restaurant in the Grand Strand, perfect for both special occasions and casual dining. The beautiful atmosphere and attentive team complement their consistently delicious food. I appreciate their seasonal menu changes reflecting local availability - it shows real commitment to sustainability. As a gluten-free diner, I love their numerous accommodating options. Reservations recommended - this gem fills up quickly and for good reason.

It was okay. Definitely had all you can eat crab legs but I've had better. Crazy stupid busy in there. Not much for a gluten free person to eat. Decent salad bar. A good variety for normal gluten eating people.
A local gem known for its great service, vibrant atmosphere, and a menu packed with delicious offerings and enticing specials.

Love, love, love Mr Fish! Staff is knowledgeable and helpful and always have great recommendations from their market items. And for lunch or dinner, this is a hidden gem. Awesome menu items, and even better specials. When accommodating a request for gluten free items, they were helpful and knowledgeable (get the hibachi shrimp, GF, with no sauce toppings). Our go-to every time we visit MB!
Known for its delightful dishes and vibrant atmosphere, it's a must-visit, especially during the busy summer months—just be sure to reserve!

I’m giving them four stars due to the lack of food allergy options, but what they do have is delicious. I was really in the mood for a burger and unfortunately they didn’t have any gluten-free buns, so I had to eat it (no bun) with a fork and knife.

While we were on vacation, I wanted to come here for the atmosphere and because they had gluten free options. Well, we came two days in a row! The food was so delicious. They catered to all my allergies and the service was excellent! I cant rave enough about this place! The two servers: Katiana and Dalila. Awesome! And Scarlet, the hostess, is so kind and always has a smile!
Amazing seafood with quick service and a massive drink menu that you won't want to miss out on!

Visiting from Maine my expectations for the seafood here were already high. I can say that not only was the food delicious but the service was fast, I think that I had my food within 15 mins of sitting down. I ordered the Seafood Boil for 2 and the serving size was perfect. Just enough to get full and take home a plate for later. Shout out to Zhanel ,my waitress, we had an allergy at the table and she made sure the chefs were aware and another shout out to the host pointing out the gluten free options on the menu. I will definitely come back for the bar because their drink menu is as long as the food menu 😂😂 bottoms up.
Excellent!
Playground outside for the kiddos.
Our server Kevin was wonderful about my gluten allergy! I got a burger no bun and a salad. Both were delicious.
Gluten Free menu available.
Enjoy a special dining experience with a unique menu option and attentive service that makes every occasion feel memorable.

The food was very good. The atmosphere/ambience was not. The restaurant layout & decor felt outdated, and the host staff were visibly perturbed when we requested a booth. My husband started with the calamari appetizer. The quality of the calamari was high and not overcooked -- some of the best he has ever had. We ordered the snapper and the salmon. Both were good, but the snapper was better. Was a bit surprised at the $2 charge to substitute rice for the orzo on the salmon, given that I told the waiter I was gluten-sensitive & the entree was $30.
They were very busy with it being Memorial Day weekend. They were understaffed (who isn't right now!?) and so food was slow to come out. But it was worth the wait! There was a lot of food, everything tasted good, and the pricing, for what you got, was good. They offer broiled shrimp, even on the kids meals, which is great for gluten-sensitive folks. We will certainly be back next time we are in town.

Wonderful seafood buffet! Great atmosphere! Exceptional castomer service!
I only wish they have more option to choose from for people with dietary restrictions like myself( gluten/dairy free). I was able to eat just crab legs, green salad and fruits for desert.

I am celiac and eat a strict gluten free diet. I was saddened to not have any staff able to help me find gf foods and ended up with a $55 salad bar. Foods like the grilled fish were not safely position away from all the fried foods. I did not ask for a refund because of the language struggles with the staff. They all were very friendly but we struggled to communicate.
The mermaids and pirates my grandkids got a kick out of.
If you have no dietary issues there are a ton great looking of choices.
A cool spot with a craft cocktail bar, relaxed patio vibes, and unique decor, offering great quality dishes without breaking the bank.

We chose to check it out because it was recommended by a local we met. First we had a couple of drinks at the off to the right. It's a great little craft cocktail bar. The Jalapeno Marg was awesome. Then it was on to the meal. They have a gluten free menu so that helped me! We got broiled scallops and broiled shrimp. The scallops were A+. So I'd say you'd want to try that. I did see a couple steaks come out at near by tables. Those look awesome. The lady really loved the hush puppies. They smelled good. The brussel sprouts were just okay. Our server was friendly and our food came up very fast. Worth noting we were coming in at the tail end of the dinner rush. So that was impressive. The server was also knowledgeable about the gluten free options. Which is also a good sign. Decor wise there's a bit of a kitsch factor. I could take that or leave it. If we go back I'll probably want to see if I can get a seat on the patio. Price wise, it wasn't cheap. Everything was between 20 and 35 a plate. However in Ohio the price of everything would have been 30% more and the quality would have been lower. So Id say the prices are great. There's more I want to try here so I hope we make it back. And lastly if you eat too much the bar has fernet branca. Iykyk
