I came to eat the Gluten Free Fish and Chips on Good Friday 2025!! It's very hard to find GF for F&C and I appreciate Schooner's offering them. Quality and food are great despite being very pricey. Our order was messed up and they forget to give us an item. I called and spoke with Tiffany the manager who offered to either reimburse us or give us the item with a free side (we choose the later). If you have trued Schooner's I'd defiantly recommend it.
Morning vibes are on point with tasty sandwiches, including unique options like a chicken parmesan on a bun that looks to die for!

I needed a gluten-free option first thing in the morning. Odd request, I know, but there was a man ordering the most delicious looking Chicken Parmasan on a bun at 9:30 am, and I got a sandwich with a gluten-free bun, absolutely delicious š

A Culinary Haven in Oshawa - A Personal Favorite!
āāāāā
The White Apron Restaurant holds a special place in my heart, & it has consistently been a favourite of mine every time I revisit Oshawa. Introduced by a friend in 2019, this culinary haven has never failed to impress.
One of the standout features for me is their dedication to accommodating dietary preferences. The fact that they offer gluten-free toast & French toast is a game-changer, especially for someone like me who is celiacs. It's a rare find & adds an extra layer of love for this spot.
The food itself is nothing short of delicious, & the portion sizes are generous. Many of the meals are so hearty that they can easily be shared, making it a perfect spot for a communal dining experience.
The staff at The White Apron are the true gems. Their super-friendly, helpful, & kind demeanour adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere. It's evident that they are passionate about what they do, & their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience is truly commendable.
Now, let's address the only minor hiccupāthe parking situation. Being located downtown, parking can be a bit tricky, but it's by no means unmanageable. The inconvenience is a small price to pay for the culinary delights that await inside.
In conclusion, The White Apron Restaurant is a true gem in Oshawa, & my personal favourite. The dedication to accommodating various dietary needs, coupled with delicious food & exceptional staff, makes it a must-visit. The parking challenge is a minor detail compared to the overall joy this restaurant brings. Highly recommended!
This spot impresses with unique dishes, enjoyable mocktails, and a reputation for great experiences, despite occasional slow service.

My husband and I attended Wildfire after a date day in the City before returning home and I must say it was a most excellent decision. The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed and romantic not loud or busy though the restaurant was packed for a Saturday night. We shared the spinach dip which was flavourful and creamy. Husband had the 16oz with veggies and mash which was cooked to perfection and not a speck leftover. I enjoyed the Tuna to step outside my usual steak and added the shrimp - all was perfect.
Many gluten free options and perfect pairings of wine or dessert spirits available.
This was the best restaurant in a very long time and we will be sure to attend again
Todd our server was quick, polite and efficient without being pushy, intrusive or seeming like it was just a job. Thank you for the lovely night and thank you chefs !

Party of 6 for dinner. We all had various types of curry including the fried basa, Goan shrimp, Shrimp tika masala, Lamb, Onion bhujjia (onion rings), pulao rice and naan. Food was delicious. Love that you can set the spiciness of most food. All the curries were gluten free as well. Good sized portions. Masala chai had a nice bite. Mango lassi was very thick! The service was quick and couteous. Will definitely go back!

My wife and I eat at the Keg quite often as she can eat gluten-free with very little concern. In most cases at the Keg any Keg, the manager will come to let us know that the kitchen is aware and they will take care of her with caution. The server didn't ask if we were celebrating anything. 38th wedding anniversary. This Keg is not up to standards of the Keg. In Durham, Ajax Keg is the spot. Oh, and beets as a vegetable what a joke.
A must-visit spot in the Durham region for huge portions and top-notch taste, offering a delightful experience and great recommendations.

By far my favourite shawarma restaurant in Durham region; I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great tasting meal with good sized portions at a reasonable price. I used to work on the Danforth for years and it is better than any shawarma place that I remember from down there. Friendly staff and many gluten and other allergy-friendly options; I am in there about three or four times a week lately. 100% recommend.

My review is a few months late, but I really can't say enough good things about the ladies in the front. Came with a friend who wanted Mr Burger when I just had new autoimmune issues that popped up... I thought I would be better not eating, but they told me they would make me something that would sit right with me. They offered me gluten free bun, chicken burger instead of beef, even offered to clean the grill for me before cooking the chicken & took the time to tell me what was in the sauce they put over the chicken to make sure it was safe for me. I really didnt want to be a bother but they assured me it was not a problem & they were so kind about it. That burger was freakin' delicious!

My team scheduled lunch here because their site and menu suggested that they could accommodate for dietary restrictions. I let the server know I had celiac disease and couldnāt have wheat and ordered the only non-salad gluten-free entree they had, a rice pasta alfredo. My entree came with wheat bread on it. When I brought it to the serverās attention, she said sheād replace it⦠but brought the same dish with the bread removed. Eventually, it was properly replaced - I think! - but this resulted in eating ~20 minutes after my colleagues who all said they thought the meal should be compāed. It wasnāt; in fact, I was charged extra! The standard fettuccine dish is 17.49, same as the rice pasta one, and added chicken makes it 23.99. I was charged a full $7 for added chicken. My bill also denoted a standard fettuccine meal rather than a gluten-free one, which is now having me concerned that my inattentive server may have triggered my celiac symptoms (time will tell!). The food was only okay; the first plate of pasta had Parmesan while the second didnāt, and I was offered zero drink refills.
A go-to spot for incredible service and a menu that keeps everyone happy, leaving diners always satisfied after their visit.

Wonderful restaurant! Amazing service, our server Chelsea took great care of us. The food is wonderful , they now have gluten free options on their menu.
I highly recommend East sides, it is our go to restaurant and we have never left disappointed
I've been a few times now. Our normal dinner for 2 is to split the Pizza and add a meat stick for each of us. This is delicious dinner for 2 under $20 and rolling out the door full. I've also been for take-out and chose this location because meat sticks plus fantastic salads make a great choice for my low carb friend. And recently I planned a family birthday dinner here, including a baby and a gluten free diner. Everything was delicious, allergies were accommodated and a high chair was available. The only thing we could have improved was speed of service, but the birthday boy believes that having to wait is a good sign of fresh food and a full lobby means it's worth the wait. I can agree with both those statements. Well done.
Needed a place for gluten free pizza. Got one and a regular pizza. Both pizzas were great. Done within 10 minutes. Requested that utensils to cut gluten free pizza avoid contamination with other regular pizza and it was not an issue. Manager dealt with my order from payment to pickup. Thank you.
The food was delicious!! Plus they can accommodate those that are gluten free!! Only issue for us was it was way too cold, the manager was very good to turn it up for us.

Been here a couple times as they're right around the corner from my house.
The OMG / gardilly sauce is amazing and I can never have enough. I always get a little extra on the side.
Today I tried the Feast Poutine which is basically Thanksgiving as a poutine. It was definitely flavorful; my only complaint was I could have had more curds.
The gravy is vegan and the fries are gluten free for anyone wanting to try them.
This is a CASH only establishment, for anyone who hasn't been here previously.
Cozy vibes and a variety of fresh options make this spot a must-try for pizza lovers looking for something special.

My children and I came to this location for dinner. We were recommended to try the Capone pizza. The best part of the Capone pizza would the grilled chicken that was hand sliced to perfection. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this pizzeria, they have so many options for both vegan/gluten free, vegetarian and halal. Restaurant is very well kept and cozy.
Just another Pizza Pizza š store. Nothing extravagant, but they get the job done. Gets busy on Friday nights. Evenings in general can mean longer wait times, but it's hot and miss. Haven't had a bad experience with any staff members. No complaints about the food either šš¾
UPDATED REVIEW:
For the longest time, I switched over and had to order more expensive pizza from Pizza Nova since they were the only ones with a dairy free cheese available. Now Pizza Pizza also has it. Plus, they have a new Cauliflower based gluten free crust that is SOOOO much better the regular gluten free crust! Plus, these options are available at no extra charge!!!
Full disclosure: I work at the school and used to be a student but i have and do eat here from time to time.
My experience may tend to be different but it leads up to what your expectations are. In the end it is a kitchen cooking in bulk. I only eat in a few subsets here but have at some point tried them all. They seem to have a larger variety then in the past of options. If you have questions about the food they are willing to go in the back and check for you and even have alternative meals for the ones that include items against dietary restrictions. IE gluten , vegan, dairy free etc. You just have to ask that area what the other options are based on your needs. Sometimes these are healthier as the hold the sauces. Have i seen some mistakes sure. You also see similar mistakes in other smaller kitchens. I wouldn't pay to eat here every day as it is a little on the pricier side but if your hungry there is value there based on what they have.
