We had a lovely experience at The Olive Tree. The food was delicious. I had gluten free Halloumi & Mushroom Burger and my friend had the Mac N Cheese and a Halloumi, Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich on malted bread, with a salad garnish & coleslaw. The service was good, and the overall ambience warm and inviting. A great place to enjoy a meal— especially on their picnic tables near the canal on a sunny day!☀️

This was an amusingly bad experience. Firstly, we went to them because they advertised having gluten-free fish and chips - but when we got there, on a Thursday, they said they only serve gluten free on a Friday and Saturday. They did apologise for this.
After we had ordered, he read back the order to us correctly but when he gave us the receipt, he’d somehow missed off 3 things that he’d actually read out to us.
So we queued again and ordered those 3 things.
However when we received our meals, there were still no mushy peas (even though we’d been charged for it), none of the chips had salt and vinegar on them and we’d asked for ketchup and that wasn’t there either.
The staff were actually very polite but this didn’t help us get the right order. Unfortunately, we didn’t realise that the meals were incomplete and had zero seasoning until we’d left for a different location so it was overall a frustrating and disappointing experience.

We had a lovely lunch here. Gluten free options were provided and the staff were very attentive. Great care is taken over ingredients and presentation. Their home made kimchi was delicious. There was a relaxed family friendly atmosphere without compromising on food quality. Would definitely go again.

Had a lovely lunch in the sunshine here. Front of house showed us to our table, admittedly he ran off before I could even ask a question but it was quite busy. I’m gluten & dairy free and they made the prawns in a garlic & chilli oil instead of garlic butter and it was superb! I couldn’t eat the roll as it has soya in so they swapped for chips, which were amazing… although I think they forgot these and I had to ask for them again after eating half my prawns! However, they came really fast after that! Great atmosphere & location just above the beach. Would definitely return!

Omg!! This place is well worth a visit, or several visits. Service was friendly and prompt. The waffles were the best I’ve had, full of toppings and with lots of flavour. They do most things gluten free too - I can’t remember the last time I had a proper waffle. We’ll be back x
