We had a great evening, we were dining for the final meal with family from Germany and I must say, staff made the evening a great one. Everyone wanted fish & chips (it's not a thing they usually get to try) and even I could have fish & chips with them because the chef did the fish without batter for me (I am gluten intolerant) so I didn't have to miss out, I was really grateful. Everything was delicious. George, Belinda and the chef were brilliant, so helpful throughout the evening. Thank you all for making our special time a perfect one.

Popped in for a lunch time meal & was pleasantly suprised at the quality of the food. Staff were very pleasant & had good knowledge of what was gluten free. Really enjoyed & will definitely call again. I would highly recommend you give it a go if you like proper food that has been cooked from scratch.

I think the best thing about Hungry Horse pubs is the consistency in the menu, no matter which one you go to. There's always a range of meals for veggies, gluten-free, low cal etc. 🌱 The portions are good for the prices paid, and they have good offers on, on various days of the week. 🍔🍺 The meal photographed is the vegetarian Tikka Tower, with battered cauliflower pieces, fries, flatbread, poppadom, curry sauce and mango chutney. You don't get a full poppadom, which I thought was weird 🤷‍♀️ but the meal is filling as it is. I don't like how the meal is served on a wooden board. Surely a ceramic plate would be more hygienic and easier to clean.🍽️ The location of this one is ok - close to pay and display and bus station. Shops and theatre nearby. Some outdoor seating.🍹🌤️ They always seem short staffed in this pub so I never phone to book a seat, just do it online as the phone just rings as there aren't enough staff to answer it. The staff are always friendly and helpful (even though they're rushed off their feet). 🦸🏻‍♀️🏃 An all-round decent pub for some decent grub 👍

This would have been a 5 star review , however, the manager on duty Justine was rude ,unprofessional and obnoxious. The girl taking my food order Christina was amazing, she took the time to go through the menu as I have coeliac disease. During this the manager interrupted several times and totally ignored the fact that as a paying Customer she should have had the courtesy to address me as she so rudely interrupted! Later she addressed our party and asked how long we were going to be and could we leave or go to the bar area, however, there wasn't room for us all so some would have to leave! Not what you want to hear when celebrating! We all left by 9 so you lost a lot of money from bar sales! I would suggest that this manager is retrained in social etiquette, staff managment and customer service! I would expect a reply from this review.

Had a lovely night at the White Lion. The food was excellent, good size portions. Staff were exceptional,and very helpful when ordering Gluten free food. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend 🙂

Absolutely wonderful experience each time we go. Tonight, we were 58 of us and there was more than enough food (continually replenished). They are very accommodating as my 2 daughters are Vegan and a couple of my group are wheat and gluten free...not a problem. I would recommend them on all levels.
