I love a lounge bar because I'm a coeliac, and their gluten free menu is extensive, but this one stood out. The service was great and the food was exceptional!
This place seemed a good option as they did gluten free options. They had just taken an order from a large party and so we were told we would have to wait 20 minutes for our food. We decided that would be fine. We were all finished our drinks when the food finally arrived after 40 minutes. The gluten free bread was stale. As with most cafes I'm assuming it was taken from the freezer and defrosted, but there are ways to defrost bread and keep it soft. The other paninis were just 'fine'. We were disgusted though when a customer came in to ask how long their food would be. They had arrived shortly after us, and probably told 20 minutes as well. She explained to them that their parking was due to run out, they didn't want a fine etc, and if it didn't arrive in the next 10 minutes they would need to go and would want a refund. We thought it was perfectly reasonable, and she wasn't aggressive, just to the point. After she had gone back outside the girl she spoke to them relayed the story to some colleagues mimicking the woman, and being rude about her. It was completely unprofessional behaviour. We are locals, so the type of repeat business they should want to retain, but we won't be back.
Just had a hot dog, JD Burger and 2 cheese fries delivered. My gluten free burger and fries were the best I have had since I last ate there ! Fast delivery, food hot and all was delicious!
Thankyou BDW Team
This is a fantastic place for vegetarian food! They always have delicious tasty food and vegan and gluten free cakes available! It's a favourite in Wells! :)
The good here is really good. Lots of choices if you're gluten free, even the dessert menu nearly everything was gf. Staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful with dietary requirements etc. My husband isn't gf and also really enjoyed his meal. Would absolutely recommend.
First visit as we normally go elsewhere in Wells. Nice setting, staff were friendly . Good range of gluten free food available and oat or almond milk. Not the cheapest of places these days for a family to visit, I understand costs are up but nearly £3 for a regular apple juice carton for a child when other cafes in Wells charge £1.50 is a bit steep. Not even chilled. Coke can at £3 again a bit on the high side but at least that was chilled. Cake at £4.80 makes it too pricey for a return as a tea and cake stop which is a shame.
Spent just under £20 on 2 cups of tea, 1 apple juice carton a can of coke and two cakes. The main food menu looked good value and fairly priced with pizzas and gluten bases around £12 or so. The quality of food other dinners were eating during our visit looked very good and appealing and fairly priced.. Shame the kids food and drink is so expensive as it is overpriced for a tea and cake stop. Outdoor seating available and plenty of room inside. Worth a visit as everyone has their own budgets but this one is out of ours.
Nice little place. Good and well made food. Staff were very helpful even with the very picky crowd I found myself with. One gluten free one GF veggie and a fussy eater. Were accommodated throughout.
Dishes were adapted to fit. Small menu but was all well prepared and tasted great.
Wheelchair accessible entrance and ground floor loo - not accessible but manageable for me as a ambulatory wheelchair user; plenty of room in the restaurant for a wheelchair or rollator. Small plates, vegetable focused and fabulous! Incredible and unusual combinations. A beetroot, pickled grape and walnut dish was a standout. Plenty of gluten free options. Great service - attentive but not overbearing. Heartily recommend!
