I’ve been a loyal customer at MKT Diner since it opened, often bringing friends and family here to enjoy their food and atmosphere. However, my recent experience left me very disappointed. I came in with my mom, who needed to use the restroom upon arrival. While she was in the restroom, I waited by the register to get a table for two, though I was the only one planning to order as my mom had already eaten and was just there to keep me company. After waiting for a few minutes, the owner acknowledged me and asked how many were in my party. I explained that it was just me ordering, but my mom was there (just in the restroom) and I was ready to order immediately. He told me he couldn’t seat us until she returned, citing that they were busy. Meanwhile, two larger groups who arrived after me were seated immediately. This was frustrating and felt dismissive, especially since I had wanted to place my order right away and wouldn’t have delayed anything. When I voiced my concerns to his wife, she offered a brief apology, but the whole situation left a sour taste. I ended up taking my food to go, but honestly, I should have just left. For a place I’ve supported since its opening, it was disappointing to be treated this way. This experience has made me think twice about returning to MKT Diner. (I did want to mention that on a previous visit, one of the servers really stood out with his excellent service—he was very knowledgeable about gluten-free options and made the experience much better. I’d only consider returning if he was the only person I had to interact with.)

Good food and excellent service. Great spot if you you’re one of the poor souls who can’t eat gluten (the majority of the menu is gluten-free), and the staff are very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Hosted a wonderful party in the tent! Everyone loved the food, the service was excellent, and the outdoor party area is lovely! Very accommodating for our guests with allergies, gluten free restrictions, and meal options for kids. Excellent communication with Christine regarding dietary needs of some of our guests and Norman was well aware and informed. Norman and the staff are top notch- from beginning (setup) til the end. I stopped into Daniela's for a bike ride break. I have an egg allergy that makes it hard to find any sort of dessert. After trying two bakeries for anything vegan or egg-free, I finally stopped for ice-cream. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They took my concerns about an allergy seriously and even double checked with other staff to make sure the food was safe. They did not flinch when I asked them to use a clean scooper. This may not seem like a big deal, but I have encounter MANY eateries that have no idea what is in their food and do make any effort to assist me. The menu is even labeled for gluten free flavors ! I got the ginger ice cream, which was incredibly good. You can absolutely tell that they use high-quality milk and other ingredients. I look forward to trying the other flavors on the menu very soon.

Amazing! The gluten free Almondine and Chocolate fondant were truly delicious! The barrista was an artist with the foam!!

Been ordering/stopping in for a while because it offers great food and has gluten free options which I require. Would have made it 5 stars but the prices have been steadily increased to what I consider an insane degree and now I can't afford to, and wont order moving forward. If you look back at user shared photos of their menu you will see what I mean. Inflation is one thing, but passing the buck to the consumer to bolster or increase profit margin isn't something I can tolerate. Perhaps the ultra rich in Closter can afford to keep this place afloat but the rest of us live in reality. Shame.
