Usually take away but sat in clean bright restaurant. Ordered gluten free cod and chips, pie and chips and refillable pot of tea for two. Fantastic chunky chips, crispy outside, fluffy inside and gluten free medium delicious flaky moist cod with wonderful crispy tasty batter.
Staff all young, friendly and polite, tip top service from Josh, thanks 😊
Toilets really clean.
A cozy spot where attentive service shines even on busy nights, plus a unique big round table that makes dining fun for families.

Quick service, gluten free pizza available, tasty food, the kids enjoyed sitting at the big round table. I really appreciated having a salad made straight from the kitchen to accommodate my coeliac disease.
Enjoy stunning sea views and a great atmosphere, perfect for a delightful meal with options for everyone and helpful service.

Excellent 🇮🇹 restaurant with sea views.
Had a birthday lunch there and the staff couldn’t do enough to help, they even take blue light card, 20% discount and free deserts at the moment, if you have a card.
A really enjoyable meal, even gluten free pizza 🍕 bases, garlic 🧄 bread and pasta 🍝 .
Food was delivered quickly and was piping hot.
We booked online to save waiting for a table.
There is a carpark at the rear, or you can park along the sea front or side streets and walk back to the restaurant.
Card only, no cash.
Will definitely visit again 5⭐️

Wandering around Clacton in a sea of fish and chips we found Francos. The interior was nice and clean and it was quiet so settled in for lunch. Was a bit pricey at around 20 per main and the specials more but we were on holiday so what the hell. I ordered a seafood spaghetti as starter and duck for the main. They were helpful with allergies and service was good. The food was great though the seafood spaghetti was a main course for me but fantastic. Was good to eat some veg for the first time in days and all well presented. They were able to cope with a gluten allergy and it was all good.
Expect a tasty adventure with a variety of options that cater to everyone’s palate, perfect for a delicious beach day out in Clacton.

Being a vegetarian I always find it hard to find restaurants that can provide delicious, varied and filling food. At Big Fat Greek Taverna I not only found an array of options to choose from but they also provided gluten free options too.
I had meat eaters in my party and everyone was very well catered for - they ordered fish, chicken and steak. They said all dishes were cooked to perfection. Even the side dishes are well prepared, for example the fries are divine not the frozen chips straight from a packet. We even ordered an extra bowl. Lastly the Halloumi fries are to die for!
I ate there for 2 evenings and the food did not disappoint on either occasion. I advise you go hungry as all 3 courses are delicious.
Make a day of it in Clacton. Daytime by the beach and when you are hungry treat your tastebuds to some truly scrumptious food. I plan to go back again in November.
With a great variety of options and prompt service, it’s a top choice for a satisfying meal at reasonable prices.

Went too Armstrong's Restaurant for my 78th birthday on the 3rd July 2023, read the reviews and felt quite confident going has I am Celiac, ordered two breakfasts for myself and my wife, one normal and one Gluten free, we started eating, when my so called gluton free toast arrived, the toast looked to good to be true, so asked again and told again gluten free, my wifes toast arrived later and I new at once there had been a mistake, so stopped half way through our meal before heading home, before we left my wife complained, and the manager was informed, and we were offered a fifty percent reduction on the bill which we excepted, we arrive home just after 1pm, and by 4pm I was having the usual symptoms and was violently ill, so not a good day, but don't let this put you off going to Armstrong's, but if you have an eating disorder please be aware.
