We visited Browns Oxford on Christmas Eve at 6.30pm and ate from the a la carte menu. There was a disappointingly limited choice of main courses. Overall, the service was good, but the quality of food wasn't particularly great.
We have eaten at this restaurant before and choose it for its gluten free (gf) options because my 16 year old son is coeliac. His 'medium rare' steak was served without any browning/caramelisation on the outside, leaving it looking quite grey and unappetising in appearance. The other main courses (chicken schnitzel, ribeye steak, mushroom and halloumi burger) were not much more enticing or flavoursome.
Cozy spot with a warm vibe, offering a varied menu and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it worth a detour.

I ordered a gluten free pizza margherita from the Jericho restaurant , on Deliveroo.
The pizza tasted so bad and it wasn’t even cooked properly, I understand gluten free is going to have a different taste. I’ve had gluten free pizzas from other places and it didn’t taste bad, so I’m sure it wasn’t cooked well, plus there was so much mozzarella but not proper sauce, overall it was a bad taste.
With a charming atmosphere and a diverse menu, this spot is a must-visit for delicious meals and a memorable dining experience in Oxford.

They didn’t flinch when I said I was coeliac, a manager told me to tell someone else I had an allergy almost as if she didn’t want to know. Mt guts turned after I left, wouldn’t go again personally as a coeliac after being told most the menu is gluten free 🤷♀️ 2/10
The selection of gluten and dairy free savoury options was okay, but what really hit the ball out of the park was the gluten and dairy free crumble *chef’s kiss*

I recently enjoyed an evening here while visiting Oxford. I came specifically because of the extensive gluten free offerings on their menu, and I was not disappointed! The food was delicious and I was delighted to enjoy hearty beef bourginon with crusty bread. The atmosphere was lovely, the pub has real personality and character, very pleased that I came out of my way to visit.
Charming and cozy, this pub offers a relaxing vibe with unique vegan options and a thoughtful approach to food preparation.

As someone who can't eat gluten, I was very disappointed with my food experience. All meat substitutes used contain gluten meaning fries could only be ordered with lots of veg on. As this wasn't my cup of tea the only option was a Greek salad which I was assured by the staff that people struggle to finish due to size.
Sadly when it arrived it was a standard size and after an easy finish of the dish I was left still pretty hungry. For £12.95 ( overpriced for some leaves feta, onion and olives) definitely not worth it!!
Lovely vibe and feel of the place but the food really let it down for me.
A cozy pub in Oxford with games, a fun vibe, and a great atmosphere for a chill evening out in Jericho.

Really great for gluten free. The waitress at the end of the night (apologies, can’t remember her name) got the gluten free menu up on her phone as I had no internet connection. Great for Coeliacs, would recommend.
A lovely bar for Paella and Tapas in the middle of Oxford city, I would recommend it for everyone who already likes Spanish food, or wants to try some Spanish dishes.
The ambience at Al-Andalus is lovely and the service was excellent.
We tried two Hot Tapas dishes -
1. Chicken with chorizo and chilli,
2. Spicy king prawn in olive oil & garlic,
and would definitely recommend these to you.
The Patatas bravas (potato cubes with chilly-tomato sauce and garlic mayonnaise) is also amazing, and would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Al-Andalus.
PS - Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options are also available.
I went with a group of friends and had their feast. Two of us required gluten free food and one was vegetarian. They were good at accommodating our needs but the vegetarian selection was limited.
