Good food. Lovely service, super friendly staff. Atmosphere was ok, although some noisy customers who didn't seem too bothered about disturbing others. Very dog friendly and gluten free clearly marked on the menu. They did have cous cous on the vegetarian menu as gluten free, which I would have queried had I have ordered it....
I initially contacted the team at The Merchant's Yard to book a dining experience as part of a hen do weekend for 11 girls and from start to finish, it was an exceptional experience!
The team went above and beyond to answer all of my many questions, create a set tasting menu for my group & cater to dietary requirements (gluten free). I ended up booking the private dining room and WOW what a fantastic space; it was well lit with a gorgeous chandelier situated above the long dining table with amble space for us all, facing out onto the centre of picturesque Tideswell. We were able to set up some decorations to really bring my vision to life which the bride adored.
Our menu consisted of 5 courses which were all absolutely delicious, the chef had designed our choices in line with seasonal ingredients & each dish received glowing feedback from all of us. We each enjoyed a delicious cocktail before and after our food - the espresso martinis specifically were 10/10 - paired with a fabulous wine list along the way. Our waitress for the night was fantastic, she was so attentive, welcoming & committed to ensuring we all had the perfect evening.

Fantastic olde world pub. Very friendly and attentive barman. Food was delicious. Excellent choice of food catering for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Good choice of beers and spirits. I would highly recommend.
The food was good, the sandwich tasty but a little on the small side , I am gluten free.
Menu choice seemed a bit limited.
Nice staff, service a little slow and I had to go and remind them I had ordered tea. In general good.
Lovely staff, really authentic and tasty gluten free fish and chips, my partner had bean and vegetable chilli also very tasty, good selection of beers and wine, altogether a great experience!
30 of us attended for a 50th birthday for a lovely Sunday roast! A lot of our party had said it’s the most delicious Sunday roast they have had for a very long time!! We have a lot of gluten free members, which they catered for perfectly :)
