My fav place to go for a quiet drink or coffee. The staff are always friendly and happy to help. Nice variety of drinks on the menu from softs, coffees and cocktails. A warm friendly welcome, we found our table & placed our breakfast order. There was no real delay on our order being prepared & delivered to our table as we arrived bright & early for breakfast. When our meals arrived we were not disappointed, as both meals were cooked to perfection & tasted amazing, so our plates were cleaned & we washed our meal down with tea.

So this week has been our first & second visit to The Bargeman's Rest & we were only on the island for 3 days.
So we were given a warm welcome as we entered the establishment looking to dine & have a couple of cold beers. After a quick study of the menu to see what could be adapted to Gluten Free, we placed our order, once all our food was delivered to us, we were not disappointed. Our food choices were full of flavours, with the portions being a little on the larger size, so maybe we will have to walk the long way back to our hotel.
So a warm welcome to a great establishment, with an amazing atmosphere, where really good food is being served, along the waters edge & very close to the centre of Newport IOW, so what is not to love about The Bargemans Rest?
Thanks to all of the team who were working & happy to help during our visits. A really big Thank You. We plan to return again to dine as soon as we can get back to the island.

My wife and I stayed at the adjacent Premier Inn, and used the Beefeater Restaurant at Medina Quay for our breakfast and Evening meals as it was the most convenient.
An excellent choice, as it happens, as the food was wholesome, well prepared and presented by friendly, helpful staff, having a good knowledge of the Island, which proved invaluable due to our relatively short stay. - (We did finally locate the Prison on which my other half had become fixated for some unknown reason !! )
I have a dietary (gluten Free) problem which was fully catered for, to the extent that the chef prepared a g/f gravy (which I had brought with me) to have with the excellent lamb chops provided one evening.
All in all, we enjoyed the catering, service and value that we had in an efficient 'Corona Free' environment, and to which we will surely return !! Many thanks !!
