My first time at Poppies, got to say I was really impressed, great little cafe! Coffee was nice as well as the food. I had the bacon rosti and my wife had the gluten free eggy bread. Really good choice for gluten free and they were happy to accommodate for your dietary requirements and didn't make you feel like you were putting them out or there was something wrong with you. Will be going back when next in Ulverston.

Lovely hot coffee, loads of butter for tea cake, and a gluten free toasted sandwich that my daughter actually enjoyed. Lovely cheerful people, great ambience.

Stayed here for 4 nights and really liked the room. Spacious and clean. Chloe was great, and my child felt very welcomed there. However, the lack of signage for electric vehicle bay caused a lot of frustration. I understand that a hotel can't police who parks in those bays, but if they were to ask if someone has an electric vehicle, then you can at least ask them to be a decent human being and not leave the car on charge for days at a time so others can't use it. The electric vehicle point and the fact that I got served a gluten meal, despite saying numerous times that I am gluten free, has really put a damper on the stay. However, the management was good and checked to make sure we were happy.

Lovely, quirky little cafe with an added bonus of being dog friendly. Although limited, there were gluten-free options on the menu, and the food was very yummy. Their homemade limeaid was also very good.

Buzzy atmosphere and friendly staff. The gluten free options were great and as I recently became vegetarian I was also pleasantly surprised by the range of meat-free options. We used to go to amigos frequently but haven't been for a couple of years; after our fantastic evening last night though we'll definitely be dining there more frequently from now on!

Really delicious food in a lovely setting with great staff. Loved that the menu offers dairy free options as well as gluten free and vegetarian so it was super easy for me to order a meal- and there were choices!!! Highly recommend
