Dangerous!! I watched a manager, after a long conversation about how many years I’ve been GF and the like, take the pizza OFF the base that reduces cross contamination in the oven, and put it directly on the oven floor. I told her I could no longer eat that, asked why she did it and she did not react like she had made a dangerous error. I got a refund and left hungry. She said she wanted to crisp up the crust for me. What!!! Zero understanding of food hygiene with that manager making me mistrust that location entirely.

Had gluten free options: chicken salad and pancakes!!! Which I thought would be bland/ unsavory but actually were ok. Great it’s 24 hours and service was very friendly.

Beautiful, delicious food! We had heard about Yang’s Kitchen from a few lists of LA’s best restaurants. I was surprised to see a top LA restaurant in Alhambra, but very worthy of being on those lists. They are also excellent at addressing food allergies including gluten.
What should you get:
- APPETIZERS: Grilled Cabbage was shockingly good. Totally caught me off guard but we got it because our server recommended it. The chicken wings were also delicious, especially because they were GF.
-MAINS: We got two dishes recommended by our server. The best one was the one I was least excited about, the Hainan Fish Rice. At 3 months into 2024, I can say that it is the best thing I’ve put into my mouth this year. We also got the pasture-raised steak with smashed potatoes and the green chimichurri sauce. I’d highly suggest both of these.
This charming eatery offers a semi-enclosed outdoor patio with heat lamps, ensuring a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The dark, aesthetic interior creates an inviting ambiance, perfect for those seeking a warm and intimate dining setting.

We ordered a cake and cupcakes (regular and gluten free) and asked for decorations that we found ideas for online. They did an amazing job with our custom order and the gluten free cupcakes were AMAZING!
UPDATE: We ordered my daughter's birthday cake for the second year in a row and, no joke, parents at the party said it was the best cake they've EVER had! The Shredded Carrot is our go-to. So delicious, so accommodating.

I came here for dinner last night and was blown away by the flavor of the dishes here! I had the house special gluten salad (can be served cold or warmed up), braised beef noodle soup, and the braised pork rice! Everything tasted so authentic and flavorful. It was like eating at your Shanghainese grandma’s house and she just freshly prepared food for you.
The beef noodle soup had a rich broth that tasted like it has been stewing for hours. The beef was fall apart tender and the noodles were the perfect consistency of chewiness. The braised pork rice was also very flavorful and served with two different types of pickled vegetables, cabbage and housemade chili.
The family that runs the business was very sweet and chatted with us for a bit. They say they make everything as home cooked meals. They also treated us with some milky white bone broth soup. I will definitely be back to try more dishes!

While there was barely anything I could eat here (I have to be gluten free), I tried the minestrone soup without noodles and it was freaking amazing. I own the place right next door called Free Spirited and I wanted to support a neighbor, and my goodness I'm glad I did 🤤. It's hard to find delicious 10/10 food and this place delivered. Usually the lack of gluten free options would drop a rating from me to a 3 or 4 star review, but the soup was THAT GOOD it deserves 5 stars. I look forward to grabbing the occasional snack when I'm on my way into work :).
