So delicious! The gluten free options were particularly tasty. We really like the falafel sandwich and the salads. Nice staff and welcome environment. Perfect for brunch or easy lunch. Not far from The museums too!

Incredible twist on vegan sushi, and extremely gluten-free/celiac friendly. This is not just rolls with veggies, the way the special rolls are constructed is unique, creating blends of flavors that are unmatchable. And gluten-free tempura!
Salvadoran cuisine is almost everything gluten free. Pupusas are the famous dishes and are corn based. Staff is very knowledgeable and have a different gluten free menu.
This place is hustling and bustling all day long. The service is fast and friendly, the food is delicious and generously portioned. The spicy dishes here are spicy! The Thai tea was awesome and the kids love the Pad Se Ew. They even had gluten free options for my wife. The prices are very reasonable. Definitely a place to come back to.
Enjoy a cozy vibe with some of the best vegan pizza around, where hospitality meets a casual dining experience.

Great vegan and gluten-free pizza with excellent service! Red Tomato Pizza House is my go-to spot for private origami tutoring sessions. It's never too crowded, the tables have great lighting, and the seating is comfortable.

Attempting to eat mostly vegan I made an effort to stop by and got a gluten free BLT for ~$11.50. It had excellent taste and the vegan bacon was very satisfying as well.
The take-home Caesar salad and vegan cheddar cheese was also delicious and could be an easy substitute for anyone attempting to go more plant-based. 👍🏼

Cafe Tibet is in my top 5 restaurants in the East Bay. I love their Ngoe-thuk pan friend sweet potato noodles with tofu and vegetables, which tastes so delicious and the portion so generous it makes me supremely happy! With their Himalayan seasonings, vegetables choices and take on fried rice, noodles, soups, and organic veggie dishes make unique and some of the healthiest Asian food around.
I am gluten free so I can't eat the Momos (Tibetan dumplings), but every person I have brought to Cafe Tibet orders them and says they are scrumptious.
There is an influence of Indian cuisine in some of the dishes and appetizers and their macrobiotic plates are also generously portioned and super tasty.
No boring, bland vegetarian food here.
I have been eating at Cafe Tibet for 6 years and the change to vegan was an enviromental choice on the part of the relative who inherited the restaurant from his Aunt who retired, but it hasn't effected the yumminess of their offerings.
I have spent the past 3 years between NYC, LA, SF and the East Bay and there is a bit of a foodie revolution going on in the later, surpassing everywhere else. I read a list recently that put Oakland as number one on a list as best city to eat out nationally. I am lumping all of the East Bay into that category, but I would agree, Oakland, Berkeley and Albany have it going on.
It's probably the influence of Berkeley's Chez Panisse which started the whole farm to table revolution using quality ingredients to make delicious healthy food. In any case Cafe Tibet is part of that community worth keeping on your Best of the Bay list.

I was on the hunt for a solid gluten free veggie pizza and Bobby G’s did the trick. Overall, food and ambiance is nothing extraordinary but reasonably priced, good tasting, and friendly enough place. We sat outside under the heaters, though if your going to a pizzeria to watch sports, inside will be preferred. And if you’re looking to go out with the family I wouldn’t recommend this spot, but it fits the bill for a pie with friends.
Very tantalizing. The service is efficient and friendly, the crab benedict was amazing as was the green tea latte. My sister was able to order gluten free toast, we were both happy. It is a bit pricey but it was worth it to us. The ambiance is lit as well. Go enjoy! Brunch is bustling, we added our name to the list but only waited 10 minutes.
Magic flavors and giant pizzas make this a must-try spot, with unique sauces elevating the experience even further.

Can’t recommend Sliver Pizzeria enough, their flavor has magic added. They make one vegetarian Pizza Of The Day, price on the higher side but generously sized. We were two hungry adults and still couldn’t finish 1.5 pizzas. Additional must try sauces (Sliver Green and Red sauces) around to pick up. Gluten Free and Vegan Pizza options available too.
I come to Ike's for its excellent variety of vegetarian and vegan sandwiches. I especially like the Meatless Mike vegan meatball sandwich, and the Green Goblin, with vegan turkey, barbeque sauce, and cheddar. You can get almost any of the meat sandwiches vegetarian too. Just substitute vegan meats. Ike's also offers vegan cheeses. I highly recommend the Dutch Crunch bread, though there are other choices, including gluten-free. The sandwiches are large enough that you'll have enough for two meals, though I wouldn't blame anyone who wanted to eat the whole thing at once.
To avoid the wait, especially at lunch, call in your order ahead or better yet, use the free app.
Great place. Gluten free options. Good communication and very polite. The schedule may change but the food is delicious. If it is late and there's a lock down they will have your food while you stay safe. Great taste and great service over the many years in Berkeley!
With mouthwatering flavors and delectable combinations, this spot is a must-visit for a tasty culinary experience!

Some of the best sushi I’ve had, especially the salmon nigiri and lion king roll. Such big portions of fish. Not to mention the bowl was also a screaming deal for the amount of food you get and it’s so custom! Also came with some gluten free people and they were very accommodating
Gluten free options. the make your own sushi burrito is awesome if you know what you want and what is good. The language barrier was frustrating it doesn't matter where you set up shop customer service depends on communication especially when it comes to FOOD. Use the Google translate and things run smoother. The spicy mayo! Honey walnuts adds crunchy sweet and salty. Spicy tuna gluten free. Salmon is good. The price is reasonable. Do not expect the usual sushi. You cannot get a dragon roll burrito...😩 but what they do have will make a great sushi burrito!
