I ordered a piece of cake and a piece of banana cream pie. The cake was far too sweet; definitely made to appeal to a child's palette. I liked the pie; though, it was heavier on the cream than it was on the banana filling; they need to work on their ratios. My partner had a gluten free whoopie pie and similarly found the filling to be far too sweet.

Great option for gluten free people. Pancakes were excellent but $16 for plain buttermilk seems steep. Bacon was very average tasting thin slices and I was expecting more/better given the $10 for 3-4 slices. If budget isn't a factor for you and gluten free is something you need I would say this is likely one of the best options on the island. Staff was very nice as well!

This organic bakery is a treasure! They offer vegan and Gluten Free options. Don’t miss the delicious Vegan peanut butter cups. They’re also very creative with spices & coffee drinks. Enjoyed the Cultured Vegan sandwich on house sourdough w/ vegan cashew "cheese", carrots, cucumber, tomato, onion, bell pepper, lettuce & sprouts. ♻️ Eco-friendly packaging & composting on site 🅿️ Parking Lot

Delicious gelato, and perfect for Celiac- they only have gluten-free (warm, crispy, delicious) cones! Plus I'm extremely lactose intolerant, but every flavor is vegan! Got strawberry and matcha, and it was really delicious; the flavors were fresh and perfectly sweet, the texture was smooth and creamy, and the cones were unbeatable! Super nice service too :)

It is an incredibly special experience to wake up in the park next to the caldera. Even when she is quiet, it is unique. Best way to see the park early before people arrive too. Hiking trails from the hotel are fantastic. Only challenge was food with celiac disease.

Delicious food. However it is not safe for people with Celiac Disease. I made sure to tell the waitress. She even said mine was gluten free when it was delivered to the table. But I ended up getting stuck after eating here.

The Veli is a wonderful addition to vegan options in Pahoa. The menu is full of delicious options such as sandwich wraps, protein bowls and salads that are 100% plant based and gluten free. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks absolutely amazing and will be going back very soon. Me and my kid just stopped in and shared a berry nice-cream desert dish that was absolutely delicious and it was dairy free and made from bananas. The inside setting has beautiful hard wood epoxy dining tables and a small yet elegant seating arrangement. The walls were painted with some pretty amazing murals of waterfalls in a beautiful jungle setting, giving the place a very authentic Hawaiian vibe. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made the food in a timely manner. The Veli will definitely be my new go to option for delicious vegan food in Pahoa! We got to enjoy this food truck last Friday for the first time. They opened at 11am and were out of ribs by 11:10am! We got the last plate of ribs and knew we had to figure out how to get more the next week. In the meantime the pulled pork sandwiches and smokey dogs were great!! All of the sides and the Cobbler were tasty too. They even offered a Gluten Free Cobbler! We learned that in order to get ribs the following Friday we could Pre-order them, which is exactly what we did. Looking forward to lunch Friday and for the next time we return to Pahoa to enjoy some Authentic BBQ.

I love this pizza spot! Even though I'm not a person who abides by a gluten free diet, I actually prefer their gluten free crust. The pizza is also so reasonably priced. 18.99 for a large GF pizza with up to 5 toppings. What a deal! It's over $30 if you try to get a similar pizza in Hilo from a local restaurant. I'm happy to support them and will continue to devour their pizzas every few weeks.
