We have been coming to @butter.and.jam.cafe since 2021. Excited to see the evolution & growth of this solid restaurant. Bill and his wife, Christina @cdanello1 have done an incredible job of creating an inclusive environment with a relaxed vibe. The food is consistently fresh and prepared well. The servers are true hustlers, ensuring that clients’ needs are met. Additionally, Bill Gelling is always accommodating and gracious. As a local business owner, I admire the thought, creativity that he and Christina put into the details. Today I had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious brunch with my family. A staple, Nutella croissant, was “shared” by the table. B & J’s gluten-free bread is the best I’ve had out in the area to-date. As you can see by these photos and the smiles on my kids’ faces, there’s plenty to be grateful for in having Butter & Jam make its home in Madison just a few years ago ☕️🍳🥐🥑.

I am a VERY picky Italian eater. I am a chef. I teach home cooking. I spend a lot of time in Italy. THIS place is GOOD. REALLY GOOD. Let me share...the meatballs appetizer ( are gluten free!-and whether you need gluten free or not these are exceptional!) the homemade pasta with the mushroom sauce, then the lamb that was seasoned perfectly, thin and tender and not overdone... the greens were flavorful and still bright green and the tiramisu for dessert was divine. That is a compliment coming from someone who makes it at home and NEVER orders it out! I'm leaving for Italy in 10 days... tonite, I felt like I was already there. My friend and I shared the pasta dish, then shared the lamb dish... it was perfect. AND we left satisfied, not stuffed. I'm going back this weekend with my husband for sure! Just go in and ask the owner to bring you dinner. Don't even look at the menu. That's what I did. You won't be sorry. Grazie mille per una cena eccezionale!

I recently requested a Gluten Free Lobster Roll, and the Chef was beyond accommodating. I first asked for the lobster salad on lettuce, but the Chef called me after I submitted my order via the app to discuss options which would work for me. He ended up preparing the lobster on a corn tortilla as a substitute which worked well! I’m very thankful for his customer service and creativity. I’ll be back! The food is delicious, and he reviewed other GF menu options with me too.

Love all the soups. They’re so hearty, perfectly flavored and my entire family loves them! Love the fact that the soups are peanut and Treenut free, also gluten free with the exception of the chicken noodle soup of course. Just delightful!

Was glad they have gluten free items on the menu! Just recently ate breakfast there with my family. Miss the juke boxes they used to have at every booth. It's a nice place to get a bite.

Their bagels are always fresh and their breakfast sandwiches taste fantastic! Lots of gluten-free options are also a huge plus. Despite the free chips with every sandwich, prices are a bit high for what you get. Not every food served here is made with the same care as their bagels are. The soup is not recommended here.

So happy to have found this cute, cozy bistro. Perfect for date night, girls night and even a nice, family dinner. Harvest Bistro offers “fresh to the table” food using quality, locally grown produce. For dinner, you can choose from an eclectic variety of tapas-style plates. To start, we shared the coconut tuna ceviche served with gluten free rice crackers- a very refreshing appetizer. We also shared the Harvest tostones combo- THIS IS A MUST! The juicy, savory shredded pulled pork alone was amazing to have on its own! Each tostone had its own unique flavor, making it hard to Choose which one I loved most. As entrees, we ordered salmon sliders and the braised short ribs. The salmon sliders came with a side of chips, the bread was fresh, soft and stacked. The braised short ribs were tender and flavorful served with purple potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms in a sauce you’d want to lick off the plate. For dessert, we shared a pumpkin cheesecake, a tantalizing treat guarantee to satisfy any dessert lover! It’s BYOB so make sure to pick up some vino to pair along with all these delicious plates. Service was top notch! I would definitely return when in the area!

Ordered one regular pepperoni and one gluten free pepperoni pizza for pickup-everyone loved the classic pepperoni. I have to say, this is some of the better gluten free pizza I've ever had. Not that super chalky crumbling crust that's usually the base at most places! I had to have someone do a taste test between the glutenfree and regular pizzas just to be safe ! Even though they could tell the difference they were impressed. Though there are some fancy ~artisan~ pizza places that might beat this, italian village is the best classic NY style/NJ Gf pizza I've had.

An old-fashioned ice cream parlor in the best town around! We have been regulars here for 10+ years, and the shop only gets better and better. The new(ish) manager is especially awesome and welcoming and supportive of the community. OK - back to the ice cream. They add new flavors regularly but always keep our favorites on tap (try the vanilla soft serve - seriously!!!) and have gluten-free and other varities. They're efficient and friendly and it's a fantastic experience from start to finish. So many of our memories are here, and I'm so grateful they're in Madison!

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They knew about a gluten-free allergy which was extremely helpful and they were very kind to people. The food here was absolutely fantastic. Only down side is we got the shrimp pad thai and it only had 5 shrimp which is expected but for lunch I would have liked a little more since it was almost 100% noodles with very little egg or veggies in it. Overall, the noddles were amazing. The lunch special came with a salad which was also very good. I would totally come back here again.
