Delicious and all vegan, with gluten free options- what could be better? Plus, multiple flavors of cinnamon rolls has me convinced this will be a regular in the rotation. The vibe inside is lovely too.
Above average price, above average food. The gluten free options are great making this a go to spot for me. It tastes “fresher” than other places with less processed sauces.
I went here for brunch with my wife and sat in the front by the window. I was happy to see gluten free menu options and picked the lentil chili and the harvest salad with chicken that had a delicious citrus vinagrette. My wife had the avocado toast with a side of turkey sausage. The food was great, service dependable and the coffee was terrific.
Returning back 7/17/22 the menu and chef seems to have changed. I had the "Kitchen" Cobb salad that included Boston lettuce and (oddly whole) strips of bacon.
One of, if not the single best diner experience of my life. I don't say that with a hint of hyperbole, I went on Saturday at 12pm, so it was peak busy. And yet, despite that, I was seated immediately, ordered my food about a minute later and no exaggeration, I probably only waited about what felt like 5 minutes tops for my meal to come out.
Everything was cooked perfectly to specification, they even had Gluten Free toast and as someone who has simultaneously lived in NJ his whole life (and we are filled to the brim with diners) and has been on a gluten free diet for over a decade, I had never seen this option offered elsewhere. Leah (I hope I'm spelling her name right) was delightful, efficient, courteous and professional. I don't often write reviews, but the service was so exceptional that I felt compelled to do so.
If I ever find myself in the Union area again, I'd make it a priority to stop in again should I need a bite to eat.
There's no other place like The Bread Stand outside of NYC. Authentic French and Italian pastries, yummie breads, great granola parfait and gluten free options. Great music when you walk in and the staff is friendly! This is one of my favorite stops for breakfast before work. I have not tried lunch yet, but it's on my list.
Really good food! We had a really large group with us and they were so accommodating. They even have gluten free options for my friend that need it. Most impressed by the large clean bathroom!
We had the Zuppa di pesce to share and it was still a very large portion and absolutely delicious!
