It's an excellent restaurant with outdoor dining and great views of the lake from inside; also. People enjoy the foid. The portions are large! I would like more gluten free options. It can be crowded, but that is because they are good at what they do.
Cozy, southern-inspired spot with gluten-free pancakes and fresh, tasty breakfast options.

Very cozy place with tasty food! They also have gluten free substitutions for pancakes and french toast, which was AMAZING! Having creamer options in addition to the normal half and half for coffee was awesome as well. Truly feel like they want you to enjoy your morning. Would absolutely recommend it for a nice breakfast experience. :)

Fast service. Delish large hot entrees. Beverages refilled for eight persons without being prompted. Happy to assist us attitude. Physical disability spacious-friendly. Last ones out without being pushed. Relaxed atmosphere. Better than average pricing. Filled eight adult ravenous apetites with four appetizers, two sides, and two desserts, eight dinner entrees for under $185.00! We are already planning to return for these authentic Mexican meals/experiences. Give this new management a chance! Vegan, gluten-free, non-dairy, and vegetarian options spot on. Ask and the management delivered. Try it. You'll love it. Referred by employees at Tailwaters Lodge in Altmar. Another awesome establishment. Just left fabulous cuisine at a wedding there and wanted quality food. Found it here at Sylvan Beach. Muchas Gracias 🥑 🌮.🇲🇽

We’re vacationing in Sylvan and dining choices on Monday’s and Tuesday’s are slim pickings, especially if you’re gluten free! So after reading mixed reviews we decided to take a chance. It was Taco and Tequila Tuesday and the restaurant was crowded, but our table of three were seated right away. Our drink and appetizer order was taken promptly by our lovely, young server. The 2 for 1 margaritas were lite, but still tasty. Mozzarella sticks crisp, salad small with a scrumptious ranch dressing. My daughter enjoyed her Cesar Salad and my husband liked his Surf and Turf (especially compared to the one he had at Harpoon Eddies earlier in the week at twice the price) and my Chicken Marsala was flavorful and tender. When we informed our server that my husband was gluten free she said she’d tell the kitchen. We were pleased when the manager came to clarify an ingredient with us to ensure the meal was gluten free. Dessert were mixed. The coconut sorbet was delicious, but my daughter was disappointed with the texture of her crème brûlée. As stated in many reviews the service and food are the stars here, and yes prices are a little high and decor is kitschy, but Captain John’s is still a solid choice for dining in the area.
This classy spot offers a perfect setting for gluten-free date nights with an inviting atmosphere and accommodating staff. Enjoy the summer breeze on the patio while experiencing attentive service that ensures a safe, memorable outing for those with gluten allergies.
