I was so excited to eat here because of their full gluten-free menu, but after this experience, I wouldn’t come back if they paid me.
My parents have been coming here for years since their friends often rent out the private space, but this place has downgraded drastically.
I have celiac disease and made it very clear to my server multiple times that I have an allergy. Anyone familiar with gluten allergies—especially a Japanese restaurant—should know that kani (imitation crab) contains gluten. When my dad ordered a kani salad, I was correctly told I couldn’t have it.
But then I ate multiple pieces of my “gluten-free” special roll before noticing kani in it. I asked my server, and instead of admitting their mistake, the chef tried to justify it, saying there’s “only a tiny bit of gluten” so it should be fine. Excuse me? Who are you to decide what’s okay for my allergy?
By then, I was already having a visible allergic reaction. The manager came over, laughed (yes, laughed), and instead of apologizing, offered a $20 discount and a gift card—as if I’d ever risk my health here again.
And let’s not even start on the food—refried, old, and completely lacking freshness. The sushi was dry, tasteless, and just plain bad.
If you have food allergies or simply an appetite for food with taste, stay far, far away from this place.
