My son has allergies to wheat, dairy, egg, and nuts, so finding a place to go out is a challenge. We tried First Round after reading about their gluten free and vegan options online. The waiter listened to our concerns and had no problems asking the kitchen if he didn't know an answer to our question. We ordered the street tacos, and when they came to the table, we realized they were made with street corn (containing cheese) and not roasted corn like we thought. They immediately boxed up those tacos (and sent them home with us at no charge) and remade the tacos for my son with no dairy. He thought they were great! I had a chicken sandwich where the chicken was crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside. We will definitely be repeat customers, as there is so much more on the menu we want to try.

However, I have experienced two instances of inconvenience with the employees. On two occasions, I arrived early in the morning to pick up a pre-ordered online order only to find the store closed despite their posted hours. If the store was closed, online ordering should have been disabled. While I was able to cancel my order and receive a refund, the wasted trip was inconvenient. My wife is gluten-free, and we both agree this is hands down some of the best gluten-free baking we’ve ever come across, which is why we often make the half-hour trip down to Cortland just for the treats.

Makes me sad to have to write kind of a bad review but here I am. I drive over and hour to get my groceries at natural grocers in Lincoln. I spend alot of money there as my diet is gluten and dairy free & I’m a nutritionist. Ever since they switched the light bulbs in the store, it’s WAY too bright and sets off my migraines and I get dizzy so I have to stop shopping there. Most people with chronic illness prefer to shop at natural grocers for healing purposes but when you put strong LED lights that are blinding in your store, it is not good for those who struggle with health issues. Please consider going back to the lights you had before. For now I have to go to Whole Foods :(

I have to write another review after discovering their GLUTEN FREE options. I was in search of a dessert for a friend with a gluten and peanut allergy. At first the plain cupcakes confused me, but when I was asked what frosting I wanted on top and the dietary restrictions (such as if it needed to be dairy and gluten free) my eyes lit up. There are so few options for those with dietary restrictions and I had previously come from a bakery with almost no options. I was able to get a variety of flavors and the cutest Christmas cookies that were also gluten free. They even added filling to one of the cupcakes!
