What a lovely cafe! Warm welcome and lovely staff. Exceptional food - the cheese toastie with soup was delicious and the perfect comfort food after a lovely hike around Grasmere in the rain. Delicious breakfast and excellent coffee! Stopping through Ambleside on our way to Penrith after some hiking and couldn't recommend Copper Pot enough! Suitable for the coffee snobs, a range of vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free options with plenty of delicious cakes. Reasonably priced. Very friendly and helpful staff, we were made to feel very welcome immediately. Even though the menu states "We don't have a build your own menu option" staff were very happy to swap bread around, remove items, offer additional sauces etc. Plenty of dogs inside and out, we would definitely recommend (especially for anyone missing their dose of a Melbourne-like cafe) !
*One thing I would advise is arriving early on the weekend if you don't have a booking. We walked in as a group of two and were seated straight away but literally the last table free, 5 minutes after opening. Food service was quick though so people after us weren't waiting too long for a table.
